51 fps? thats a bit low I think. I get 74 fps on max settings on res 1600xx1200 with a x800 xt pe and P4

Have you installed latest drivers? Cat 4.9?

Well, part of the issue is that the benchmark lets you run it with any setting so you don't know if they had the slider on performance or quality or what the other detailed settings are.

3Dmark2003 and Aquamark3 setup with a standard res/AA/AF etc.

and is that your own serrver? did you creat a server? or did you join a server with 10v10?

I as many others allso get that much when alone on your own server. Just tried it 1024x768 max settings, getting upto 150 fps.

By the way, are you getting the 6800GT or X800 pro. With those new Catalyst 4.10 drivers, maybe you should wait and see, I have a feeling the X800 pro could pull ahead, which would be huge for ATi.

Well I say go for it, and if you can see if you can get an X800 pro VIVO, if you wanted you could try to softmod to an X800XT PE, it's not 100% for sure but it's a good chance it'll work with the VIVO's.
