Um, where exactly do they advertise that?

- Dual-channel DDR2 1066/800/667 MHz or DDR3 1333/1066/800

The FSB may be 1600MHz but that doesn't mean the board officially supports memory at that speed unless it specifically says.

Also when they are pushing memory speeds on newer boards with a new bios update or something, a lot of times you will need to increase memory timings (latency) in the bios manually.

Just out of curiosity but what speed is your ram rated at in the first place?

Ram is TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF, which runs at 1066MHz (5-5-5-15)

I can get this to boot up in single channel mode fine and dandy. Set the frequency, timings and voltage to 2.1 and it runs sweet as a nut.

In dual cannel mode however, it boots up as 800MHz, I increase the frequency, and the voltage but the PC just craps itself and gives me a overclocking failed! error :/ It runs fine at 800MHz but I didnt pay fro 800MHz RAM

I have the latest BIOS installed andthe memory is listed as supported both on Corsair's site and Asus's.

So, ... According to those above me; Asus is right, and you, sir, suck?

PS: You know 800=1600, which isn't the ones you got? Yeah, Magic!!

the bios shows 800 but it is actully 400MHz, as shown in cpuz... *sigh*

I ran memtest for a good few hours with no errors. I then tried to boot into windows, all went well but after about 5 mins, the thing froze ;( Tried some adjustments but it just kept on freezing ;(

Woohoo, I think I love you :D
Yeah, everyone loves Sir. Phoenixx, but I hate the man. :p

So, this is an actual known problem of P5KC boards with curtain modules?

Good finds Sir Phoenixx you got it "Bull's Eye"

I'm sorry to hear that bro. This is a shot in the dark: Try exchanging brands? maybe exchange MB, other than that I'm fresh out of ideas.

Good Luck.

I would exchange the mobo but as its out of warrenty that would cause me to throw more money (then im prepared to) at this system to get this problem fix'd. Just have to stay at 800 MHz :(

ASUS have let themselves down on quality with there motherboards, they used to be fairly good. Wouldnt buy an ASUS board right now, not so great at ocing because their bios is shit house, boards arent very stable either.

EDIT: If u want to get a new board how much are you prepared to spend?
