I hate colds.

Colds suck. The few days before high school graduation (which is tomorrow) I come down with a damn cold. Fever, unbearably sore throat, sinus infection. This f*cking sucks!!!

Sorry if this is a pointless thread, but I need to let out how pissed I am.

You try spending thirty minutes talking to someone who has the sniffles and see how far that advice gets you lol. No matter how many old wives tales I've tried out to stop getting colds I always manage to EVERY YEAR. One thing I do use now that I didn't use in the past however is Sinex... absolutley brilliant stuff.

lol. I've noticed that. Theres a week or so after getting a cold that you're totally appreciative of being able to breathe out of your nose again and then when you inevitably get a cold again you regret not being able to breathe through your nose more.

the best thing for me is that at the last phase of your cold, you get really thick boogers that could go on for miles if you pick them. Satisfying to sniff them out. I know I'm retarded.

They line the entire of your trachea, they are cells with cilia, which are little hairs which are covered in the mucus (they are randomly placed between the ciliated epithilial). Basically when you breathe, you take in shit loads of dirt and dust and bacteria. It sticks to the mucus on the cilia and gets brought up to the mouth (which is why you always have spit coming into your mouth). Then you spit it out, or swallow it, where the stomach acids destroy it all. Better than all the crap sitting in your lungs eh? Smokers paralyse their cilia by smoking, so their lungs get filled with all that shite....good luck on em.

Anyway you can't stop the goblet cells, they are crazy mofos. Once they start going mad producing too much mucus you can't stop it. Just gotta wait till the thing passes...bah
