The original was HORRIBLE
Why is there a second?

still a TBA game though.

IGN said:
Now though, CIA black ops agent Rico Rodriguez is back in Just Cause 2. Several years on from events in the first game, Rico is on hiatus, soaking up the sun and sea in South America. His vacation's cut short though when old partner Maria Kane calls for Rico's assistance in tracking down and killing his friend and mentor Tom Sheldon, gone rogue and in hiding on the island of Panau, located in the Malay Archipelago.

I heard that they are pushing for a late 2008 release date and that they plan to fix many things that are wrong with the first one.

My parents told me that when you have nothing good to say, don't say anything at all.

they really tried to pull off some gta scheme with it. honestly it was one of the worst games ive ever played. im not even sure how they have the budget to make another.

You really thought it was that horrible. It wasnt remarkable, sure, but I have played worse games than that before...

It was bad, but if they have the money, let them try to make the game better at least.

Hell, I don't know anyone who bought GTA 1 or GTA 2, but definitely on GTA 3 they got the formula right. Maybe Just Cause will get the formula right on the second time. Give it a chance.

I kind of enjoyed it, whenever it wasn't trying to get too much out of the engine or making me shoot people.

I thought it was a hilareous game. It was just, you know, "You're in a jungle, you've got guns, you can hijack shit, go have fun". Screw the storyline.

I enjoyed Just Cause.

Another game following the GTA formula is "Boiling Point". Another fun game.

Never played the first one--it didn't look that bad though!

If they fix all of everyone's complaints then the second one might be pretty decent after all. Plus, I want a nice tropical console adventure since my PC refuses to be friends with Crysis until I stuff it with an 8800 GT.

The PC version was horrible since it was a port of the Xbox 1 version.

But I still liked it.

Remember Just Cause? We loved its focus on hi-octane, adrenaline-fuelled, over-the-top antics

This article you linked to doesn't agree with you.

...Boiling Point is probably one of the worst games ever crafted.

Right next to Big Rigs.

Just Cause was dogshit due to the ice-skating cars, boring combat, shitty voice work, and an ever shittier 'story'.

I didn't like just cause either and i can't believe there's a second one :|

On the basis of "I liked the free demo 'cos it was one of those MASSIVE MAP YOU CAN ROAM AROUND IN but you have liek a time limit" I thought Just Cause was good, mindless fun.

This was announced a while ago at the end of the last fiscal year, I think. :)

Plus, Just Cause wasn't that bad; it wasn't exactly game of the year but it was a tidbit of harmless fun. The sort of game you pick up and put down whenever you feel like it. Sure it got repetitive eventually, but I still found it a fun play for a while.

I never really liked it but wont go on a vendetta against it, my younger brother enjoyed the first one so.... let the stupids have their fun. Keep them on their own games and off our TF2 etc :P

Just Cause wasn't that bad considering it was the companies first game..
Hopefully they'll have learned stuff from their first game to improve upon their second.
