Hopefully some of you guys can help me out with these nagging problems. I've got a Radeon 9600Pro.
1)The biggest problem. The screen is too dim. My monitors settings are all the way up for contrast and brightness, and adjusting the videocard settings just makes the colors fade. Its not too bad, except in games, all of the adjustments are thrown out the window and the games are quite dark, sometimes bordering on unplayable unless I max out the in-game gamma.
The worst part is that it wasn't always this way, when I first installed the card it was bright and fine. I've tried reinstalling drivers but it doesn't work.
2)AGP settings are always on 0, no matter the changes I make in SMARTGART or the bios.
3)Sometimes the game randomly shuts down, more often in lower detail games like The Simpsons Hit and Run and Civilization 3, which is all 2d.
Now I know that there is a newer bios version that "increases compatibility with ATI cards" that I could install, but I was wondering if there are better fixes, because this bios worked fine at the beginning. Maybe its Radclocker? (Which is installed but is not ever being used). Should I completely get rid of monitor drivers?
I'm really at a loss for what to do.
