I have problems installing AoE III

To get straight to the point, when I try to install the game I get this error message

Error Number: 0x800040702
Description: Failed to load DLL:SSE

Setup will now terminate

I would like to know if anybody else has had this problem, or if anybody knows what this problem is?

I do not believe its anything to do with my minimum spec, I was able to install and play the demo

I think it'd be best to email microsoft technical support. They'd know what the error code meant and with my own experience they reply and sort out the problem really quickly.

If you have their email, I would appreciate it. I'm trying to find it on their technical site, but I haven't spotted anything more than tel/fax number and a address

Ironically I did never use the email after all that (I wasn't planning too neither, too much hastle for such a small problem). In the end I installed the latest ISS for my MSI disk drive, the drivers came on disk1 of the AoE III disk, it never mentioned anything about this problem in the readme docs on the disk.

There was a similar problem that somebody else had, but not exactly the same one, installed it anyway.

Try to copy all of the files from the CD to your hard drive then install from there.
