People, today is a bad day, I have found out that one of my most anticipated mods, Missing Information, is dead. :(
The team is scattered, the mod is dead. D:

Link to MI's website.

Apparently, the website is dead to.

Love-tub?

A shame that. Someone else will pick it up, or something similar, in the future.

Suits them right. :p

For what? they never did anything wrong. Only thing they did wrong is having a picture of um.. Gabe Newell. Probably Romka made that picture. D:

I was really looking forward to this mod, every time I read Raising the Bar, I just get goosebumps. I wanted to play Half-Life 2 as it could have been, as seen in the concept arts etc. I am not talking about the leak, I am talking about the original concept arts and the book by Valve, as seen from Valve itself.

Not all of it was worse, the Antlion caves (we will see them in Ep2), I am not sure about the Artic base, its just too early to assume.

Just looking at the original City 17 art was and still is simply mind blowing. Valve said in that book that they wanted to put a sense of oppression and Eastern Europe was obviously the best choice. It's that it doesn't feel as dark as in the art. There was a museum, and all sorts of things you'd find in a City in Eastern Europe. There's so many things missing that showed in the concept art of City 17.

I am not talking about the monsters etc. Im talking about all the architecture, both Combine Eastern architecture.

Don't forget the V.O's Samon. :p

The museum is still in the game, isn't it? The Overwatch Nexus. Though not very many exhibits survive, other the the suppression device and those weird stone busts of old men... who are they anyway?

[/spoiler]

I dislike the older City 17. It certainly wasn't darker in an atmosphere sense, it was simply darker in terms of colour. It's a very heavy-handed approach. The oppression would not have been as powerful because it was completely overdone. The City 17 now portrays a kind of abandoned Earth; it's not surreal at all. The reason it doesn't feel as dark as in the art is because it isn't. The idea that you can really rack up the oppression factor with dark colours is extremely generic.

Also, the VO's were just out of interest.

Suits them right because they were using beta content.

Well certainly, thinking of MI, I wanted to play Half-Life 2 as in the concept art just out of pure interest and curiousity. Even the synths, I am sure you'd like to fight one, yeah? I wouldn't really care about things like the hydra, antlion king and so on.

Where is it said that they used beta content? May have been inpired by it, but it did not use, beta content. All those models and textures were made by Romka and the maps were made by LaCabra. There are other team members but I can't think right now.

Concept art is just that though. 'Concept'. Some things are never intended to be played; this happens with every game over and over. Dozens of concepts scrapped. It's meaningless to glue to stuff that's gone.

why ws my post deleted? I only stated what was in MI. Thats exactl what you all are doing

There is still that Air Exchange mod I heard about going on, is it?

LOL.

Are you somekind of MI fanboy trying to blindly defend the mod?

They used alot of crap from the leak, Hyperjag3 and ScarT converted most of them models to the retail version, and they also used lots of vmfs from the WC mappack as a base.

All the e3 maps were already finished by valve and required a bit of entity logic fixing and thats it.

it's 2007, 3 years after release - who cares?
they weren't exactly profiting from it and it was an interesting project imo

We had a little bit code from the leaked Source Engine. Most of the content was based on leaked content, and I was the one who converted [lots of] models to retail.

Note: Please, don't reveal/use the names of team members here.

Well, I've had word from Valve and their stance is that it's still illegal content and would like us to clamp down on it. So, technically, cease discussion!

Locked.
