I have enough cash to get a bargain bin game. And I was planing on buying GTA: SA on Xbox 1 since I had so much fun with it. But Now I see there is GTA: The Trilogy. Which includes GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas. But I can only find the PS2 version. I like the xbox version of SA alot more then I did the PS2 version because of the controller and the load times were much lower. With the PS2 version have to use a controller I'm all right with but I don't love and the load times are longer.

So what do I do? Buy San Andreas Xbox 1 version for good controller and great load times? Or buy III, Vice and SA all together and play with a not so good controller and longer load times?

How should we know? Liking a controller or not having the patience to sit through a 10 second load time is a part of your own prefrences. Go with what you want.

Invest in Halflife2.net

When you can get 3 games for the same price as 1, your question is answered for you.

I prefer the PS2 controller to the XBOX 1 controller (and 360 controller too), so I am a tad biased already.

Agreed the Xbox versions are better, never liked the PS2 control for GTA games and the graphics are a bit weaker. You should be able to find the trilogy on Xbox if you hunt around a bit, it would definitely be worth it.

Are loading times really that big a deal? The game loads maybe once or twice max during a 3+ hour play session. The only other pauses are when saving or walking into your safe house. Loading times shouldn't be a determinant factor. Go with PS2 for more variety or PC for mods.

I'm the opposite, I always preferred the PS2 control scheme.

While I too prefer the PS2 control scheme, I can't see how it would be that big of a factor. And while the load times might be a little better on the X-BOX version they're still negligible on the PS2. I mean ... apples for apples I'd say go with whichever one has the controller you prefer ... but in this case you're getting 3 great games instead of just one. It seems like the choice is ridiculously obvious in my opinion.

I'm going with Bad^Hat on this. Just because it's not on Bestbuy, Walmart or Gamestops site doesn't mean they don't have it just means they don't have enough to warent an online page. I like the 360 controler alot better. And 360 plays xbox games like a horse runs. It's so easy they really don't have to work at all. When I was playing SA last week it was the coolest my 360 has ever been and I was playing about six hours straight. So I'm really going to try and hunt down GTA: Trilogy for Xbox.

Thank's Bad^Hat you own.

I've also always preferred the game on a PS2 pad. Though, I only played the GTA's with a BIG xbox control pad.

I do like the 360 controller a lot though, so I should be fine with GTA4 on my 360 :D

Too bad they couldn't get Bully: Scholarship Edition running without serious framerate issues on the 360.

"We have just become aware of the issues people are having with Bully Scholarship Edition on Xbox 360. It appears that some older 360s are experiencing framerate issues, freezes and other problems. You have our word that we never experienced any of this in QA - in any of our offices or at Microsoft. I am horrified, and we are now working around the clock to rectify this situation. Thanks to Neo-Gaf for bringing this matter to our attention.

I ment Xbox 1 games.
Not quite true though. It doesn't even run Syberia, Capcom vs. SNK 2, Beyond Good & Evil, Timesplitters 1 &2, and lots more.

I believe they have given up on BC now sadly: Group marketing manager Albert Penello continued, "I don't know if we have plans to do any more releases... It feels like we kind of hit the point of diminishing returns there. I know with the Xbox Originals, there are still things happening there, but in terms of a lot of engineering work around bringing out new titles, I think they're winding that down."

Agreed. One reason why I bought the PS3 just for GTA4.
Sorry to bring it up, but the controls for GTA IV are the same (or equivalent, obviously) for PS3 and 360, and it's closer to what the Xbox controls were, ie - the back triggers are accelerate/brake. Always preferred them this way personally, and shooting from moving vehicles would be impossi-hard if you had to use the face buttons to drive anyway (see Saint's Row).

It doesn't emulate them, it runs versions of the games recompiled for the 360 architecture rather than the XB1 one.
