You know, how SS2 had voice-mails? Yeah... I remembered this one... http://themany.ytmnd.com/. Also, if someone agress to host so voice-overs of the Many, I would gladly upload them, they are fantastic.

Doom 3 will have weird and spooky voices suddenly going off (maybe in your head, I don't know): some will be used to set the mood, others will be used to scare the living shit out of you. Watch some of the movies carefully and you'll see a couple of examples.

I love the Blood splattering sounds behind the screaming and shots.

lol, hrm. I didn't find that creepy.

I suck. ;(

eek, SS2 creeped me out on so many different levels that it's tough to imagine anything beating it.

I'd be happy to host the voice-overs for you :)

Well,t hat's because you are not in the game, something strange when you see a victim holding this voice-mail, and Many you just killed next to him. I don't know.

the thing that spooked me in SS2 was the fact you would go from very quiet sneaking to desperately blasting away at some horrible creature with that really loud assault rifle...

I played through quite a bit of SS2, and never got a feeling of being scared.. it was creepy at times, and I will admit the audio positioning was superb

Yeah, that is the only game that managed to be scary without the cheap-shocks of other games. The first time you walk into that dark room where the guy hanged himself, with one of the many screaming in the hallway...that was scary shit. The lighting and sound in that game was way beyond anything else at the time, and are still impressive.

Anyone who's ineterested can download the whole game for free (legally) on the home of the underdogs.

If you download it make sure to get that Rebirth model pack. It's really good. I hope Doom 3's logs will be as good as SS2's, in SS2 I would follow the crew's stories and get to know them a bit, right up until the end when I actually felt sad hearing them suffer and die. It really added to fear, it's not 'big ugly monster jumps out of the shadows' superficial fear, it's fear that really strikes at the heart, making it much scarier than other games. Does anyone know where I find the cutscenes for it? I've been looking for them for a while.

For goodness sake, please stop using acronyms. I read through this entire thread thinking you were on about Serious Sam: The Second Encounter. I thought that there must be some people with nervous dispisitions to find that scary.

I remember downloading the SS2 demo recently and it not working very well. It's a game I never bought and I don't know why.

SS2 gets the most tense when you get to the cargo bays... i won't say why but get the game and find out for yourself.

Didn't see you before qckbeam... plenty of TTLG'rs around.

Shit yeah it was. I just hope doom 3 can deliver the same amount of atmosphere as SS2. I noticed a review in a german mag (Mr. Reak, you posted a scan of it, IIRC) and SS2 was mentioned once or twice, so that must be a good sign

I love in the new Doom trailer when he's in that big room with hell-ish stuff all over the walls and he's got the flashlight looking around and then you hear that girls voice: "Over here, follow me.."
