This guy was with the dod web team from the beginning, check it out:

Subnormal: So about how long have you spent playing DOD:S?

Kommie: Around 24 hours total.

Subnormal: Does it have the same "feel" as regular DOD?
Kommie: In my opinion, yes.

Subnormal: Has grenade priming been removed?
Kommie: No.

Subnormal: In CS:S, if you are at full health, you could sit on top of a grenade and it wouldn't kill you, is it the same way in DOD:S?
Kommie: Nope.

Subnormal: do you know whether or not they are planning on updating the player models?
Kommie: I've heard two stories, I think the "official" statement is no. The "Dynamic lighting" of the HL2 engine makes the models look better. But (off the record) i hope they remake them. So "there are no plans to remake them as of now," but the majority of the testers have made "demands" for updated player models, as well as bringing back bandaging.

Subnormal: in avalanche you can jump from any high spot in the map without taking very much damage at all by hitting the sloped brushes just right, is this still possible?
Kommie: I think they fixed it.

Subnormal: What are you most impressed with?
Kommie: The sounds in general are simply amazing, like if there is an MG on the other side of the map, you hear the dull bass-y sound.

Subnormal: What are you least impressed with other than the player models?
Kommie: Stamina, it lowers fluidly and the running speed seems faster.

Subnormal: What happens to the bodies? In DOD they sink very slowly then disappear
Kommie: They stay around for the round.

Subnormal: Tell me a cool story about an in-game experience in DOD:S.
Kommie: The other night we were having bazooka fights and just the sounds + the physics + the ragdolls flying through the air.

Subnormal: I have heard from some places that they might be adding vehicles to the game?

Kommie: No vehicles yet, dunno if they plan on it or not.

Subnormal: In CS:S if you walk into a table, you get shoved back, does this happen in DOD:S?
Kommie: Nope, but the interaction between players and models is buggy right now. You can get stuck (usually not permanently) espcially in the "bombed out builidings"

Subnormal: Are they still using the original textures?
Kommie: For the player models and weapons, yes. Everything else is new.

we have come a long way from beta 1 fellow hl2netters, get ready for even more DOD goodness soon...

No way. That would kill performance in deadlock games.

It won't matter for most people unless they give us an option to buy DOD:s individually.
