The unlocks completely ruined it for me.

I can understand a unlock in a single player game, but...

In multilayer it just ruins it.

I haven't played since the new update, gold rush sounds fun but...

I JUST CANT DO IT OK!
 
Goldrush is fun, the unlockables are not uber-better weapons, just variations that expand the game play options.
 
So unlockables have ruined a game you haven't actually played since the update?

Playing for fun wins grinding any day, it's all about how important you think those unlockables are.

Seriously i find no real difference in gameplay except there's a lot more easily swattable medics running around.
 
I hate unlocks myself, I hate stats, stat whores, and all that.

When TF2 first came out it was fun, and it may still be it may not, but the unlocks encourage stat whoring wank faces so I just don't wanna play anymore.

Next thing they'll be adding grenades. :LOL:
 
I'm still kind of irked about achievements being tied to unlockables, or at least some of them. But I'd be lying if I said I haven't been having fun trying to get them. And I otherwise may have never experienced the exquisite pleasure of bonesawing a Heavy to death had there been no further incentive to playing the class.
 
I don't know why Valve released only the Medic achievements and unlocks. The next two weeks is going to be full of unbalanced pubs with shitty offense. Bah Valve.

If you've not played the game since the update how can you possibly know that they have ruined your experience?
 
This medic frenzy will pass. I've already found a number of servers with 'normal' amounts of medics. I do notice that gameplay is quite different when both teams have 5+ ubers at any given time.
 
I lawl at how achievements, something you aren't required to do, and is meant to just happen under regular playing, ruins a game for you.

Oh well, so long, wont' miss you, etc.
 
It's how other players act based on those achievements.

- People holding onto their crits for excruciatingly long amounts of time just so they can shield someone from a crit rocket and get an achievement.
- Medics running off and trying to bonesaw an enemy medic healing a HEAVY or a SOLDIER or a PYRO.
- Medics ubering Scouts (I mean come ON!)
- Medics just healing eachother and trying to get kills
- Medics chasing Scouts with their syring gun and getting owned

I have to say it has definitely changed the game for the worse. I just hope it doesn't last much longer.

What do you expect some people to do when brand new content is released? Not care? Of course for the first bit people are going to be checking it out. Give it a little bit of time, they would be OK.

This is what pisses me off. People who post something, but don't bother checking their post for any very noticeably large mistakes.

Anyway, the update hasn't ruined it for me. I don't play it much anymore since GTA IV release, but I'm sure I will soon.
 
There may be quite a bit more of this, as they release unlockables for all the classes. Imagine this phenomenon with snipers or spies. You should just uninstall the game now.
 
Let's hope they release the unlockables and achievements for multiple classes at once next time.
 
They're are plenty of servers without idiot medics, and Goldrush is simply epicmuffins
 
well i got like 5 achievements within the first 10 minutes, so most of them are luck or for realy organized people. There are a few freindly servers out there who are deticated to get players the achevimentr.
 
the worst one will be engi it will really suck having a majority of a team set up as engies whole rounds will go by with no one doing anything just waiting.
 
yea, they really need to release multi class unlockables at once. Like medic and scout, or engi and pyro, or sniper and spy...etc.

At least get it so that servers wont be 8 medics on each time at release.

The only mistake VALVe made was making the new weapons unlockables. If everyone was just given them, very few people would be running around trying to syringe scouts, bonesaw other medics, or uber punching heavys.

There's nothing preventing them from taking a preposterously long time to release several at once instead of a merely ridiculously long time to release them individually.

All I hate is the number of medics I get on my team. I have no fear in reminding them that they're bloody morons, and they're going to get cockslapped in a minute.

I can't wait until the other classes' achievements come out, actually, because it'll take the attention away from the medic's. Although by that time everyone will have got bored or finished with those achievements, so everyone will just start playing as sniper. Just imagine when (if) Pyro based achievements come out... I can almost imagine 8 pyros on the same team...

It would be best if Valve released multiple achievements at once. While it was nice that medic finally got some deserved attention, it might be a tad too much.
 
Yea, 5-7 medics on every team on every server I join is horrible and even more since I enjoyed playing medic and did so on a regular basis. Until this whole medic craze dies down, I really don't feel like playing TF2 at all.
 
But that's the beauty of Team Fortress. Just change classes. That's it.

So you don't normally play as Pyro... just try it!

I don't like the unlocks either. If they weren't tied directly to achievements like they are it'd be awesome, but as it is... it's just impossible. Pretty much ruins it, and like you, makes me not want to play so much.

well said. Christ, please don't let TF2 turn into BF2142. Sheesh. Playing with a dozen medics on your team is downright frustrating, and they're doing it just to get new weapons and stuff that aren't all that great (aside from the ubersaw)

That's humorous, but then so is everyone being a medic. Or any class. Eight heavies running at your fists um... "blazing" is humorous, too. But when half the team are trying to play and half the team are behaving like ignorant sheeptistic buffoons, it decreases the desire to play and increases the desire to hate humanity.

Releasing updates achievements together would certainly be a sensible idea. I just hope Valve won't be doing any achieving of any more oversights.
 
My main problem with them is that they're too specific. Killing 50 scouts with the syringe gun? It doesn't bother me too much, because I only really want the new syringe gun, and I should be able to get atleast 12.
 
I've found the new syringe gun quite good for Scout hunting. Hell, it's good against everything IMO. I've taken down heavies at long range, sustaining myself through their fire. Better than the original gun.

Indeed, they should release achievements at the same time to balance out the classes.
