Well.. a few days ago I was like hmmm I feel like to play some Half Life... I've been a huge fan since the 1st one and I absolutely cannot wait for Half Life 2 Episode 3 and Half Life 3(hopefully)

So in order to satisfy my hunger for wanting Episode 3 even more I decided to play Half Life 1 - Half Life 2 Episode 2 in order from start to finish on normal mode.

Started on Friday... I jumped on Half Life and finished it in about 1 sitting in like 8 hours or so... but I did not stop there right after the ending I loaded up half life 2 and got to "We Don't Go to Ravenholm" chapter and then went to bed (it was like 5 am in morning lol)

I got up and started where I left off and finish it and then started Episode 1 at around 1:30 AM on sunday and I finished that within 2 or 3 hours and then I jumped right into Episode 2 and got to chapter 3.

Got up today and finally finished all of the Half-Life games. I have to say this game never ceases to amaze me, every time I play it, its just ****ing amazing. The music, combat, the story, the characters, the graphics , its a an amazing franchise.

While playing through all of them I felt as if I was not on earth and I was really somewhere else. Its unbelievable how this game instantly grabs you out of reality and into a complete different universe, it's that immersive.

I cannot wait for Episode 3 and when that comes out instead of playing it right away I am going to tease myself and play Half Life in order from 1st on to the third one again to get the ultra experience...

Omg valve..I love you.

I just recently did it like this: HL2, Ep 1 and then went back to HL1: source and about 2/3rds the way through. kinda stopped for a while but its all fun to play them all over again

Props!

I did that when I bought and played through the episodes for the first time. Best gaming weekend ever.

To keep the difficulty somewhat constant you should go from HL1 on normal to HL2 on hard. Even so, HL1 would probably still be slightly more difficult :p

I generally play through all the games on hard when I replay now (Vortigaunts and assassins are slightly different on hard in HL1).

Oh man, that reminds me. I haven't played back through Half-Life 1 this summer yet. I gotta get on that, I think I missed it last year.

That's basically what I've been doing this weekend: Started with Half-Life, then played Opposing Force & Blue Shift, went onto Half-Life 2, and I just finished EP1 and started EP2 tonight (maybe I'll finish sometime this morning ;) )

Tons of fun. I'm thinking of running through all the mods I've got too (like Minerva:Metastasis & Mistake of Pythagoras, my favs).

You should also do Lost Coast. idk....

Of course, can't forget Lost Coast.

Also going to probably play through the Missing Information mod (it's fun to play HL2 with those guns!).

Ya, i did something similar to this a while ago.. Went from hl1-hl2 ep2. Recently i have just been playing good ol' hl2, i probably will continue with ep 1 and ep 2 tho. No hl1 this time around :(

im sorta doing that but with all the first half-lifes (opposing force and Blue shift)
now u should go through half-life 1 and look through the game with no clip on
i did that and found so much weird stuff

Oh for a mod that daisy-chained the installments together, sans 'previously on' bits.

You'd be able to get all fourteen emeralds.

How are the vorts different? I must've missed that.

mmmmhhmmmmm nothing like some cheese-itz and cream soda and a playthrough of half-life.

The time between them starting to charge-up a jolt of energy and them actually firing it at you is reduced on Hard mode.

The damage they inflict if you have no armor is also beastly. You will easily die in a hit or two.

Vorts were most troubling on Hard mode, with Assassins coming second. Vorts are everywhere and do extreme amount of damage. The Assassin's only come out several times in the game.

Eh, Normal mode is a little too easy. Well, even Hard mode is still easy, but I'm glad you had fun. I've done it a few times and found my jaw always hurt because I hadn't moved it to eat or drink all day. You lose sense of reality, then you have Half-Life dreams.

Ah yes, the Half-Life dreams. I did a HL2/EP1/EP2 run not too long ago and ended up having a nightmare about a strider chasing me. Of course, I killed it with my dream's "impulse 101" code.

At least, I think I did...

I have to admit, I do have some interesting dreams after playing HL. It's usually about the combine coming to my town and my friends and I starting a resistance group.

i dream a lot about Ravenholm but its actually fun and not too scary. I usually carry the gravity gun with the saw blades and its fun times. Also my favorite dreams were of Jurassic Park
