I can simply sum up what I have seen so far in 2 words...

Laggy. Sweetness. :)

I just gotta turn off a few settings, but this game seems to be alot of fun :D I am not far into it though, I just got into my apartment and now I am supposed to get some explosives or kill a few people... I will need to read my quest log again.

But anyway, I think this game is pretty sweet, just gotta figure out the uber lag on the street areas :|

I still havn't gotten it yet, i will do though, and hopefully i won't have as too bad lag as what i have heard others have. :|

(As in really really bad lag)

Be sure to do your side quests for each area or else you're missing out on a TON of experience points. I had a friend who didn't know there were side quests because he's dull and by the end of the game he had as many skills as I had by the second city. Just talk to everyone you see. What race of vampire did you choose?

I chose Gargen or something like that, and yes, I have done quite a few side quests. Like, Stan Gimbles <Shudders>

i so badly wish i could run that damn thing.

I knew something was up you walked into his waiting room lol. Grangrels are pretty fun. Malkavian were probably my favorite though.

got it for xmas, still havent finished it tbh,in fact i've only just left the first hub area, the last time i played i was on some boat mission to find a corpse or sumit,i deleted it off my hd for room,i should really try and finish it someday ;(

I think it's a cool game.

I got it a couple of weeks ago for about £7.50 :D

Its a really fun game, but I haven't actually been home to play it much.

its fun if it wasnt LAGGY!!! AHHHHHHH!!!! does anyone else get a realllllly laggy mouse sometimes? you turn but the mouse but the crossairs dont so the character keeps walking forward???? bah its so annoying. hl2, doom 3, farcry etc run damn well on my pc, but bloodlines is so laggy...

deleted it the day i got it tbh, havent gone back to it since...mind you i got it for £9 and i was using a voucher hehe

I didn't have any problems either. But then I bought the game after it had been patched.

I'd definately get it but all I keep hearing from the majority is the lag and the terrible optimisations, as if they never used hint brushes or portals or something. Which is a shame cause I would like to see it and what source is able to do in it.

Apparently your performance goes up if you use you existing HL2 config.

Apparently......

The biggest problem was that you were free to do whatever but in an extremely limited space. It only took a few minutes to memorize the whole town, which basically consisted of one main road with two or three side roads. The towns were so tiny that there wasn't much to do and there was no point roaming around a city that you had already completed all the quests for. They should have given the player larger more open areas with things that are fun to do rather than nothing to do at all.

The cut scenes in the game were a bit glitchy but they fixed some of that after they released the first patch, though some of it remains. Some of the graphics in the game are iffy but over all they're good looking.

The sound acting in the game is great. I really liked it and I think they did a good job picking out all the actors.

The gameplay is totally linear and doesn't giv the player much else to do besides the main and side quests.

Overall I think the game is good if you look past all the downsides. It definitely worth playing through atleast once and has a really interesting concept.

That's why I'm interested in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. because it seems like they're doing most of the stuff that Troika did wrong. Hopefully they'll be able to pull it off better than Troika did.

hmm, how do you mean, which part of the config, or just make the same settings or something?

I'm a little lost :\

while this game was EXTREMELY laggy for me, this game is still a great one, and the ending is HILARIOUS! :cheese:

By the way, time-wise, you will most likely get 40+ hours in this game even if you dont do alot of the sidequests. Oh, and it was laggy cuz i had GeForce MX440 64mb, 1.7 gigz processor speed and 256RAM :|

You got 40+ hours without the side quests? I got ~19 hours with all the side quests in the game, maybe I'm just fast.

Is the lag that you mention simialr to the one you experience in HL2 were after you load a level or go into a new area, it is annoyingly choppy. If that is the case, the updates will work okay, but it might be a case of RAM.

I will be getting it on Monday, reason being the price is now £9.98 for GAME members :D

hehe.

yeah hl2 was choppy after loading between levels/sections. ive only got 512mb, it kind of bottlenecks my cpu and gcard.

didnt know there was a patch....hmmm i might just try that

*rummages around his games shelf looking for the case*

yeh alot of games have dropped in price...i saw medal of honour: PA for £10!!!!

Vampire didn;t seem so bad i got to downtown and everything but the bugs and stuff just didn;t make it that much fun :(

what? V:B and MoH cheap? dam still the same price here ...man 7.50 pounds (I dont know how to make the "pound" squiggly) is cheap ..that's almost a quarter of the release price ...hmmm I wonder if I can order it from the UK

The whole config apparently.

I am up to the haunted house, I am stuck :( I am in the room you came in after the boiler room and the ghost ran in a room that is blocked with wooden planks... I have no idea how to get in there.

ahahah i had the exact same problem dude! use your enter button to go through... or try grabbing it lol. All i had to do was go up to it and press enter lol. Im pretty far in the game.... just completed the snuff film mission... whooo was that a creepy mission.

I chose toreador.. for my clan. i liek the fact that i can seduce people very easily ..... makes for a fun game lol.

PEACE

Mike...

PS if ya need help private message me. :smoking:

The Malkavian have an extra persuasion ability due to their demention skill. They're about to tell people what to do, kinda like a Jedi Mind Trick. You tell me, "You well let me through this door." and it casts demention on them and they're like, "Go right ahead." You can also make people laugh hysterically and that makes them forget what you were talking about.

I <3 fortitude, basically makes me near invinciuble in some situations.

The gangrel is a perfect fit for you, seeing as you control the animals from those yogurt things. I think that's what you're best at :D.

It suggested that clan that was into blood magic but had not as much social points as others... I guess Gargen is better for me.
