I've heard a lot of medic-hate and people saying that medics are no fun to play, but I love it. I was playing today and I had terrific fun as a medic. Possibly it's a bit of cowardice but I love being able to stand around a corner or behind some cover while being able to heal and provide a vital and active role in the combat. I only killed two or three people in the entire match but I ended up second on the leaderboard for points, I loved it :cheese:

The Ubercharge is great fun too, well, as long as you're using with someone who isn't an Alabama retard anyway. I've had times when I've used it on people who didn't even notice and kept trying to stay behind cover and dodge all the bullets, which is annoying. But when you do get a heavy or soldier who knows what he's doing and the two of you slicing through the enemy lines together, it's brilliant!

Unrelated story: Some of the people on the team I was playing today must have been blind! After a somewhat failed charge into enemy lines (The guys I was supporting got destroyed) I was legging it back to out last point and I actually ran straight past, and then in front of, two Ubercharged heavies and I barely got scratched. I was only a few feet away and I think only one bullet hit me :p

I love being a Medic too. In fact, "Team Doctor" was the first TF2 achievement I got :D

I love Medic. My stats are probably better for them than any other class. I think my max healing I've done in 1 life is 4.8k which sounds good.

The only thing I hate about uber is how it doesnt make you impervious to knockback effects.

I'm kind of thankful for it, it means that you can't power through a heavily-defended area too easily.

Although it'd be cool to uber a Scout and sprint past four sentry guns to grab the intel.

And then look on as he sprints out of range of your healing gun :p

I get ubered as a pyro sometimes and there's a single SG that is like a mile away completely preventing me from getting in that area because of the knockback. Kinda lame.

I said "too easily". It's frustrating when you get pushed back by sentries, but I enjoy it in the sense that it keeps the game balanced.

I started to like Medic after some time :D
Now its mine 2nd time class.

I like to play offensive medic. Just yesterday I made 19 kills (with syringegun, not kill assists) in one life on 2fort. I also use my bonesaw alot on Dustbowl (2nd level) and usually kill 3-5 players before someone finishes me off... :) Enemy team gets really angry sometimes and starts calling me a cheater or say that I should stop spamming with my bonesaw :D

Offense sniper is funnier :D

:bounce:

Yeah but if you're a smart medic you will go ahead of the person you are ubering when going against sentries and start dancing around so the sentries will be locked on you and your heavy/demo/soldier/pyro can take out the sentries with less knockback.

It's the little details like this that make you a dayum good medic.

That's a really good tip. I don't play medic often, but I'll be sure to remember that.

Ditto. Medic has always been my favorite class.

I always feel so awesome whenever I kill someone with the needle gun, or bring up an uber that changes the tide of the battle.

I like meidc+medic and bonesaw
frags with uber :D

Hehe, I remember going on a 6 kill streak with the bonesaw. I managed to hold down the base.

Awesome.

I think it's kind of neat that you can stay ubered while you don't have the medigun out - if there're no teammates around and you've got a full charge, you can go on a nice bonesaw rampage for a little while. :D

Valve removed that 'exploit'. Sucks I know, my favourite memory of the medic thus far was when I killed a friend by switching between the needle gun and uber - shoot and cover without cover :D.

I've only been playing medic since TF2 came out with brief stints as other classes to see their weaknesses. I might have to try something else, but the medic is the funnest for me.

It's possible to get 2 points before the gates even open with the Medic. Just keep healing a lot of different people for a second or two instead of one guy for the entire 30 seconds or so.

Medic is a really fun and action packed class to play. If you do your job you should be out in the big action, with the heavys, soldiers and pyros. If the player you are healing gets snipered, stabbed or simply killed, you suddenly get an urge to flee back to an engineer base, waiting for an offensive class to come along, before you move out and attempt to take a capture point or intelligence. Also I get a huge rush of excitement whenever you ubercharge a heavy and he shouts 'GET BEHIND ME DOCTOR!!', it makes the situation seem alot more dangerous and intense than it actually is. Medic = Fun class that is about to get funner in around 2 weeks with the new achievements, choices and the possible 'Meet the Medic'

Sowy...

:( I just really want Meet the Medic.

Don't you lose the ability to ?bercharge somebody once they pick up the intelligence?

Nono, ubering the scout to get into the intel room. Mainly I'm just imagining an ubered Scout doublejumping across the stair courtyard in 2fort, with the sentries doing absolutely nothing, and then rushing out via the circle stairs. Of course it would never actually work, though :p

What are your TF2 stats like?
Still not ten.

edit - It's useful to keep your uber during a capture if possible so you can be a shield for your host when they pick up the intel. They won't be invincible but you will be, and can act as a shield between him and incoming fire as you make a run for it through their defenses (and his health will still be kept up). They're always waitin' at the top of the stairs for you with guns blazing.
