Can someone, on newegg, please put together a bare accessories computer for no more than 500 bucks. I totally forgot I had to make a computer for my friends son. My friend is sort of poor but I want them to have a decent computer so don't go too cheap. Can you guys please put together a comp that I can order today?

Needed:

Motherboard
CPU
Ram
Case/PSU (Something with some decent cooling)
Video Card (not for gaming but not a shitty one either, his sons a little young)
Onboard Sound is perfectly fine
CD Drive
Harddrive (No bigger than 40gb)
And if anything is needed for a dialup connection like a modem, that too.

Not needed:

Speakers
Mouse/keyboard
Monitor

Please please PLEASE help me!!

I'd do it myself but I'm running late to work. Please help me! :imu:

Dude, I don't have time to do this, but it might help to let people know if you have an Intel/AMD preference.

Some people are funny like that...

(Will never touch another intel again) ;)

Edit, will you need an OS as well?

do u need link to something to buy or like just names of pieces fo hardware?

Was quite bored so I came up with this, hope its ok. The price is alittle over $500, but its not too bad, see what you think.

Shouldnt you just go socket a like AMD XP it would probably be easier if you just modeled a comp off of an E machines like they use a 2800+XP and 256mb of ddr ram or w/e then just do the same and it's most likely going to endout coming cheaper.

I could downgrade teh gfx card to a 9600XT, that would probably bring the price down to below $500, i know you could make a much cheaper pc, but that would be a pretty good performer.

If your going to downgrade anything downgrade the processor a bit. Graphics cards are one of the biggest pieces when it comes to games, and you will hardly be able to notice a slightly slower processor.

Go with socket a athlon xp mobile. If you do, make sure that you get the 35w version that runs at 1.35 volts. It overclocks like crazy.

but he said his son dosent game or anything so y would u need high gfx card that setup is fine and its only 11 bux over
