I Need Help With Garry's Mod

i have garry's mod 9, but i downloaded it off of www.download.com , (because i dont want to pay for it) which means it is non-steam...
so i have no clue how to run garry's mod
PLEASE HELP ME

It is for steam. It needs steam. All the files of the game is attuned to steam.

Now run as fast as you can before Stewie notices this thread and your idiotic post.

I think you are getting confused, Garry's Mod 9 is free for everyone but needs a legitimate Half-Life 2 to work (meaning Half-Life 2 on Steam).

Being a Mod you then copy or extract it into your Steam\steamapps\SourceMods folder, this should all be in a readme file of some description.

And no a pirated copy of HL2 will not work, being cheap by itself or great value in the Orange Box there is no excuse not to buy it.

Gmod 10 costs 10$, but Gmod 9 is free. But you need HL2.
I believe it automatically extracts to the correct folder if you download it for free off steam.
