Okay, so I have a fairly old computer, and I want to start playing half-life 2 and Episode 1 on it, I know I need more RAM, what will happen if I don't have enough? Here are my specs:

CPU: AMD Sempron Processor 3400+

System RAM: 446.5 MB

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE (GeForce 6150 LE)

DirectX Version: 9.0c

Sound Card: Realtek High Definition Audio

Also, any suggestions on what I can upgrade as well, and where to find (i.e. stores-wise or ebay-wise;) ).

Thanks for the support!

What you have is enough to run both. Neither will be that great - I don't think your video card will do HDR+bloom at anything like decent speeds, for example, so Episode One won't be as pretty as it could be - but you shouldn't lag too badly. Nothing will "happen" if you don't have "enough"; Source scales pretty well. Don't worry about it.

Unless you absolutely need HDR/Bloom.

Your machine should run the game, although upgrading would make it prettier/smoother.

Given that you don't list your location, and that Americans assume that the internet is only in america, I'll assume your American, in which case, I hear good things about Newegg. ;)

So...what should you recommend me getting? I have money to spare lying around here somewhere, just not tons!

Also, I'm sorry for not listing my location, and I am from America (born in Santiago, Chile but moved to California, U.S.)

Depending on how much your budget is, I'd look at adding anywhere between 512mb and 1.5 gb of RAM, and upgrading the GFX card. If you tell us your motherboard and what you are looking to spend, we can give more specific advise on what gfx card to get

Well, I'm not really sure what you mean by motherboard, but my processor is an AMD Sempron 1.8 GHz. My computer model is an SR2010NX . Yeah, also, just any suggestions on what will make HL2 and Ep 1 work at their fullest potential will be great. Heck, I can buy a whole 'nother computer if I must (but I won't ;( ). So thanks for everything so far! I really enjoy playing Half-Life 1 Anthology and I have played Half-Life 2 on the Xbox (even though it wasn't so great:( ).
