i need help

every time i try to play online i join a server it loads and befor i can spawn i get disconnected and get a message saying connection lost its been a month now since it started i have a 3meg cable connection i heard this game is sensitive to packet loss so could someone tell me how to check for that or if anyone has any other ideas? thanks

Disable your firewall.

Other than that see if you can open ports if you have a router.
