I remember why I quit playing BF2

I was bored so I started looking through my stack of old games. I thought I'd give BF2 another spin and get back into the game to finish that aviator badge. I find a 40 player server on dalian plant, and while I'm loading I read the rules which state in capital letters "no baserape/no attack on carrier".

I join the game and get tossed to the USMC side, a few seconds after spawning I die. There's a chopper and two j10s raping the carrier even though the US has three flags onshore. I know there's two admins on because they have the same clan tag as the server's name.

Next round I pick chinese side, I get to the jet first and of course some douche jumps in front to get TK'ed. I fly for a while, rack up some kills and when I land for repairs another fag crashes into me full speed with a jeep. I get the TK of course. I spawn and wait for the plane but before it spawns some guy uses C4 on me.

Then the admin bans me for "no baseraping carrier" even though I never got anywhere near the carrier.

If you like a challenge, try the Project Reality modification. It's a good bit harder than BF2 but if you stick with you'll never be able to play the latter again. And it removes the stupidity of BF2 - bunny hopping, spawn raping, musical flags, the j10...

Although I think bullshit like this occurs in pretty much every online game. There's bound to be admins who abuse their power or pull other lame shit. Here's what I do, get a good laugh out of it by switching sides, TK their sorry ass and get banned...

Or just quit and join a different server.

If that shit happens, there's really no reason to stay in that server. Oh and Evo is right, find a decent server and become a regular at it

I was apart of a decent server back in the day. They, sadly, closed the server due to inactivity between large hours. But damn, when it got going, it got GOING.

I can't find a decent server for the life of me. Last night I tried a few 32 player servers till I found that I liked with ff off and air maps mostly. But I got banned from it because get this... I'm a "decceleration noob". Because I hit the brakes in the jet to target choppers easier. I guess admins were in that chopper :/

Thing is I'm an admin on a CS/warcraft server and we have so many rules and regulations when it comes to kicking/banning that most of the time I just kick idle people or ban the obvious cheaters. For people we suspect of cheating we get at least 20 minutes worth of demos and all the admins watch and judge and pass it on to the head admin for a final decision and the player still has a chance to appeal.

It just riles me up that I can't enjoy a game I paid for anymore. I'm still playing counterstrike after seven years. I know people won't agree with me but I'm starting to think BF2 has more smacktards/noobs/retards than CS.

I was banned from a GameSpy DCF server that played Basrah 24/7...i was driving the APC...saw an enemy behind me with a mine out...I reversed and planted him into a wall...I said "Take that, punk!!" and next thing I knew I was in the chatroom...guess that punk was admin, lol!

Personally, this is one of my favorite games with the right servers. Much like CS, you have to have the right group of people to play with to make the game enjoyable. I can't stand playing with people who are elitests.."YEAH MAN I RAPED YOU AHAHAHPWNDPWND!!"*Sigh*

yea I had the admin kick me as well one time.

I was in one jet and the admin was in the other jet (we were on the same team). And I see the admin being chased by an enemy jet, so I get missle lock on the enemy jet and fire and of course the missles don't even try to attack what I had locked on to and they fly directly to the admin's plane and kill him.

A moment later he says, "You tk'ed the wrong guy ******" and then I get banned.

Yea...it really pissed me off...
