I think I'm losing interest in video games...

Maybe a ban would help? Cold turkey, gobble gobble.

This is the first time?

I've had various mid life gaming crysis - nothing a short break can't fix :)

Sort of. I've had it happen before, but it's usually only for a day or two. But now I haven't been able to sit down and play a videogame for more than thirty minutes without getting bored in about two or three weeks..

Go and do something supremely constructive like... take up woodwork. When you realise how boring that is, you'll come running back to the mind-numbing beauty of gaming.

Juist go do something else for a while. I'm back on my median of gaming, myself.

Sounds like someone's playing the wrong games.

Seriously though, try making your own text adventure with Inform 7. Your imagination's the limit! Enjoy!

Take a break. Fill up your time with something else. You'll eventually remember how much you <3 video games.

Use a sledgehammer on your computer or console.

It'll probably make you regret doing it afterwards, in which you'll then want to game again! :D

Hey, it's a small price to pay for fun.

I play games alot less than I used to. Getting older, school, and work have alot to do with it. But I still think I'll be playing games till I die...

u should like make yourself read a really boring book and not play video games untill youre done and when u are done u might be interested again, if not read another book.

I was in the same boat until my computer blew up, got a new upgrade, stopped playing WoW so much and tried out FEAR.

Then I decided to play through HL2 again, and then just got HL2: Episode One

I am now eagerly awaiting BioShock, FEAR Expansion, HL2: Episode Two (Portals)

Someone buy my WoW account

7/8 wrath 7/8 might 7/8 valor rank 10

2/8 NS 4/8 BF Field Marshal

gogogo!

But seriously, someone, please......I hate this game but I can't stop logging on.

I lose interest in the games I have like once every couple of weeks. It just hits me that any game I wanted to play isn't out yet and I track down a good tv show to get into or I read a book.

Since you said you like reading, if you need some books that are quick, great reads go for Angels & Demons. My favorite book :D

You can always just unsubscribe through your account on the WoW site.

Table Tennis. Not ping pong- that's for people who don't know how to play. I find that doing something physical makes me want to play a good video game when i'm done. Go to a recreational center and have someone teach you how to play Table Tennis.

Wait for a good game to come out. Bioshock, and Spore come to mind.

This is what I did with my WoW account... I decided that it was taking up too much time of my life and it was getting me in trouble in work, since I work in a gaming cafe all I was doing was playing wow instead of helping customers. So one night I went to bed early got a really good sleep... got up the next morning and got a nice long shower.... my head felt cleared and I just logged on to the Website and canceled my subscription. I have never regreted it, but it sucks having to watch customers play it in work, altho it looks boring atm as all they are constantly doing is Instances over and over again.... I dont know how they do it.

But definately go for it and unsubscribe... it will be the best thing that happened ye... and you will start to play other games alot more..... even try downloading alot of free games, these things can get addictive and are lot more fun compared to sitting 10mins waiting for a Zeplin to appear or will your on a flight path.... GOGOGOGO.

Am finding that since I started working in a Gaming Cafe (its been about a year and a half now) I lose intrest in gaming very easily, simply becos I am around it all day long, but it always helps when ever a new game comes out and every1 gets a buzz for it in work, which in turn gets me all buzzed up about it.

A few of my mates that I played online games with for years had stopped playing games for near a year, then I got them to come down to the Gaming Cafe, and they have got hooked again..... LAN is definately the way forward in gaming.... I know its been around for a long time, but in my area This is the only the third Gaming cafe that has tried opening and it has been the most successfull bar far. I just the fact that you can pwn the guy in the face in a a game then look over the room to see the reaction in his face.

Ok that may seem like its abit off topic, but what am getting at is... if theres a gaming centre near you, then try popping in and join in some LAN gaming, you may be suprised at how cool it is and since Gaming Cafes usually have a bigger selection of games that most ppl have at home, then its usually the best place to find a new game that you may have never even thought of trying out. GOGOGOGO

Easier said than done. I went through two or three months of hating WoW but playing it anyway before I was brave enough to actually stop.

I felt like making a thread like this too but I decided not. For some reason a switch inside me turned off as soon as I hit college. Right now I am viewing games really as a time waster that ruins peoples lives. It basically came to this conclusion: get a gf in college rather than look at porn. Spend time with a gf and not play games. I better study and get B's in all my classes and not play games because college costs $$$. But unfortunately college is not how its advertised because chances are, you better not ask the girl out because seconds later her bf will be right behind. :dozey: When you're in grade school you can get D's and still pass and basically game till you sleep. But in college it opens up a whole new world. And then between semesters you get a thing called a, "full-time job". TBH I don't know how some of you (checks xfire) can play 20+ hours. And then if you start getting used to your new schedule and do have time you find games to be boring. I can play an hour and then start to get bored. As I said its some kind of switch that turns off when you hit 18-19 and start going to college. I know I might get flamed for this but hardcore gaming is like Pokemon. You liked it when you were a kid but your friends and the rest of you just grew up and abandoned it. But I will never stop playing games, ever.

Or go to a college where playing games is encouraged and participated in by the staff and faculty.

I <3 my college! Not many other places where your instructor says "Well, Im off to play some Warcraft 3"!

Well I'm getting my Associates degree in Welding. I find games to be a hobby rather than my job. And I don't think if I said I wanna be a game programmer would sit too well with my parents. :hmph:

There comes a time in every man's life when he begins to hate videogames. It's happened to me several times, and I've always come out of it. Just don't play anything. Or if you do, play garbage like Solitaire.

Eventually you'll feel interested in sitting down with a good game.

I don't have the money to buy any games at the moment, so I haven't played anything in awhile.

No kidding. It takes a REALLY special game to get my money these days. DEFCON will be my next, though, because its amazingly fun (according to reviews at least) and cheap.

I agree. The only games I really feel will be worthy of my money, and that I will buy no matter the reviews, are Bioshock and Alan Wake. I'll probably buy Gears of War and a few other titles, but they're not exciting me that much.

Starting to lose interest too, spend too much time out with mates, in Uni or working to be a harcore gamer!

Nothing wrong with losing interest, I only play games now if they are like very, very good and have had great reviews, since I know earn my money in a part-time job whilst at college, I want to spend my hard earned money on something worth while. I will always like games and will always play them, just as my life moves on, I feel I will have less and less time for them, as they are merely a past-time for me now, a good past-time at that, especially on those cold, rainy days when you have to stay inside.
