I think it is time to make an Episode 2 forum

People start talking about HL2: EP2. I don't want to read spoiler, so I think it is an appropriate time to start EP2 forum.

An episode forum with sub forums to 1, 2 and 3. A forum for all episodes would just be so...tacky, and we'd end up with a mess like Rumours and spec. We give sub forums out to the likes of Oblivion and Battlefield, when ultimately they are just games that belong in general chat. But they are there anyway to control the discussion.

That is what we need with the episodes - sub forums. The mess a single episodes forum would create would be awful.

An single forum for all three episodes makes sense because discussion is going to be centric only on the current episode at any given time. By the time real Episode Two discussion will kick in, Episode One will be old hat. We change the Episodes forum to reflect the current episode's discussion, and put discussion of older or future episodes in the normal Rumors and Speculation or Mythology forums.

Eventually we'll move it all into Singleplayer Mythology (Rumours and spec needs deleting since it has no purpose other than to confuse), but as for now we need seperate forums to regulate the discussion. Help threads, episode story related threads and other things. People don't want to wander into the episode forum worrying if they'll bump into a spoiler for 2 or 3, or even 1.

While the main focus is on 2 right now, there is still alot of 1, and 3 will come soon. If we cram them altogether it is going to be a hazy mess. We need seperate sub forums, it won't hurt, it'll just save confusion.

We did listen though, we just disagreed.

I originally though seperate forums would be good, but, I agreed, and stepped down to sub forums - but that is probably as far as I'll go, heh. I'm stubborn, but I simply think it'd be so much easier...at the very least, if all goes to pot, we'll just merge them. The idea of all 3 episodes cooked up into one forum is...yucky.

Kinda like when R&S was the SP forum. *Shudder*

Subforums are the same thing as seperate forums though I suppose it doesn't really matter, but if we try your way and the forums aren't that active, I think we ought to try the other way.
