So yesterday I went to check if I had new emails and I couldn't get onto the email account. The username was there but I had to enter the password, like someone clicked the remember username button. So I entered my password and it didn't work and of course I was like "WTF??" so then I try it again and I try the passwords from all other accounts I have. Nothing worked, so is it possible someone got my password then changed the password on my account?

ha ha in ur account hacking ur posts - sulkdodds

Is it a website email like gmail or hotmail? If so, you can just click the "forgot my password" link or whatever they offer.

Yeah it's gmail, but for them to remember your password you have to give them an email adress when you make said email adress. And I didn't exactly have one ready at the time.

EDIT: Hang on I think I might have had one brb.

Ok, I did have an old ass email that they could send it to but it's going to take like 24 hours.

I'll bet you had run some sort of cleaner - 'erase browsing history' or something, it erased the remembered passwords.

With firefox and others you can store your passwords with a master password so you never have to type anything anymore. I haven't tried it though.

There's always the idea of not forgetting your password :D

You should write down all your passwords and hide the paper under your keyboard. Its a really safe way to keep your passwords. Its the "between the mattresses" hiding spot of the computer world.

I tape mine on the back of my monitor...next to my warranties...;)

I use 7 different passwords. The most complicated one contains 15 characters.

I memorize them all. I use all of them randomly on various websites.

So, uh, where do you live?

I use the same exact password for every account I make, for about 5 years now.

And it's so ridiculously obvious no one will ever get it! HahahaMUAHAHAH!

No, it's not 000000, but that was my Sony Station account password for SWG. Worthless now, though.

I bet I can guess. You know what the most popular password is?

123456 qwerty

Ive known people who use these as their password for everything.

'password' is the most common password I think.

Or, you could just open up Wordpad and type all your non-critical passwords there and then save it to your desktop.
Sure, it's a risk, but if someone can remotely access your desktop, your f**cked anyways. :P
I'd recommend disabling all of Windows remote access features to compensate if the OP decides to do this. It's a useless service anyways and only serves as a backdoor for hackers tbh.

BTW: Never store any important information on a web-mail based e-mail program like Yahoo. You'd only be asking for trouble then.
Web-mail is purely for BS e-mail only.

For more important e-mail transactions, your better off with a POP3 account.

Most people use a family member's birthdays as passwords I think.

Me and some friends once got into the admin account of our hostel Wi-Fi network. I'll never forget that week. Instead of 64kbps we got 4Mbps. :E

You can always try these combinations: admin password, admin admin, cisco cisco etc.

I have three types of passwords;

Common - I don't care and will frequently share with people to get quick access to something.
Uncommon - Non critical, private shit.
High risk - Banking, Domains, etc

I don't actually remember my passwords but instead rely on muscle memory.

I like to make really complicated passwords using a bogus email, for really important sites, and then forget them once I leave the page. That way I can be sure I'll never be able to come back, since they will send my password reminder to an email address I don't remember the password or user name to.

My HL2.net password is *******.

Don't worry guys, HL2.net filters it out!

Disclaimer: Do not post your password.

EDIT: WTF! IT DIDNT WORK! HOW DO I DELETE?!
