I've been running for quite a while and just started doing some nice hill training a couple of times a week along with a nice 2mile run 3 times a week, anyway, just been to a 90minute session of full contact Jeet Kun Do and i am absolutely knackered, i have never sweated so much in my entire life and my hands are still shaking.

If you want to get fit, and i mean seriously fit, join a boxing club or some sort of full contact or semi-contact martial arts club...:|

Haha, you've discovered how good fighting/martial arts are for fitness!

last april, on my birthday me and my mates had a massive fight (friendly tag fight) in a forest clearing.......i was shattered aftewards, awesome (doing it again this year)

I wanna start wrestling or something, i've got the build for it now since i've put on some mass.

That's what i need to do, put on some mass, especially around the arms. One of the things i wanted to avoid was just some guy stood at the front telling people to punch and kick, but this was fantastic and definately what i wanted.

Runnning does not do much unless you push yourself each step, if you ran like super hardcore you will be hammered atleast once a week so up your running if you can.Do you run track?

No just road running. What i do though is the last 100 metres of the run, i would just go absolutely all out and run as fast as i can till the very end. There are athletics clubs about but they train on a Wednesday night which is the only night i can't make :(.

Wrestling has been the most demanding sport/activity I've ever done. Even beats rockclimbing.

Just back from a kickboxing session.

Martial arts rock!

Was doing a winner stays on little tournament at the end. I managed to stay on 8 rounds in a row. Damm proud of that considering who I was fighting for alot of it! :)

The only to stay fit is to push yourself. :D If you feel you could be doing more, then do it!

I run out of breath walking from the freezer to the microwave.

I used to do boxing, after 2 month of traning I lasted 6 minutes on the ring.

try fireman carrying someone your weight/height for 100m. THAT is hard.

Karate FTW!
Had a test last night, an hour of intense workout, then after that I had to remember my Katas. Fortunately I'm a lower belt so I got to sit down early :P

u lack da FURY of a tru kung-fu mastah. you need moh MOFO and less BIOTCH.

:smoking:

Running is pretty tame. I could run forever, but karate gets me breathing hard very quickly and tired within an hour.

Try holding some low stances after a good run.

Your nickname will be Gumby.

All "Kung Fu" will teach you is how to dance, TBH.

Tae-Kwon-Do FTW.

It beats everything else.

I prefer martial arts that teach you how to use your whole body, not just legs or arms, or whatever.

My strange Korean friend at school....

So yes, FishyChip

Does he wear glasses and about 167cm tall?

Nope, tis a girl.

Who the hell were you talking about?

The typical Korean student stereotype. :p

Hair = 3cm below ear.

Does not wear glasses.

Extremely outgoing.

Swears a lot.

Beats up boys.

This or the exact opposite. :p

The original form of Tae Kwon Do is a million times better then the westernised Olympic bollocks.

Lol, although it isn't quite as strenuous as fighting but better then running. Try scuba diving, if you are going against the currant at the start of a dive it can be quite hard work, though your meant to dive to your limits, mostly because over exerting yourself can waste your air pretty quick, but yeah, its a good way to keep fit. That or doing laps in teh poo, but laps are boring! :P

A good alternative to martial arts is fencing. I did it for about 2 years, it certainly helps you build muscles in your dominant arm, and theres alot of bouncing around so its pretty balanced if tahts what you want. Youre certainly pooped afterwards. Also the only damage you will do to yourself when first learning is getting stabbed in the stomach and chest alot :P and mabye having your arm slapped by the other dudes weapon.

spend as much time on your mind as you do your body ...after all, your peak pysical ability will go downhill as you get older ...better to have something to back you up once your body doesnt perform quite as well as it used to

A nice workout can be good for the ol' noggin, though!
