I want HL2 to be delayed

I want HL2 to be delayed, cuz my computer is to old and i wont be able to play it when it come, hopefully i will get a new computer later this year but thats later and when HL2 comes 30th september the whole story and secrets and surprises will be revealed for me. And when i got enough power to play well...u know..

anyone else in the same situation?

I'm in the same situation, but I might be able to scrape it just in time- ordered my new rig a few days ago, and it said a 9-12 day shipping time, which leaves it very tight. Erk :/

I'm in the same situation and I doubt I'll be able to afford a new PC for a while 'cause I'm going to be a dirty, snivelling, impoverished university student by the time HL2's out.

I wouldnt mind if it got delayed. Im in need of a new uber rig like you guys. I have to wait for the warranty on this old mother to run out first. Only a few weeks. So if HL2 was delayed to mid October I wouldnt mind. November clashes with mock revisions so..

Anyway, i wouldnt want the game to be delayed if i hadnt. I just would make sure i didnt see anything that would spoil the game.

Hardware prices will go down Nov. 15 when new technology is released (happens annually for quarter sales). That's a LONG way from 9/30, but it will be when I get my new comp.

So yeah, I would like to have HL2 delayed til Nov., but that wouldn't bode well for my inner fan-boy either.:cheese:

I actually want in some ways HL2 to be delayed, If HL2 does come out with a load of bugs, people will moan like hell (remember a small game called black & white?)
That game was also hyped up loads and when released had huge amounts of bugs. However my view is biased because my favourite genre is Adventure (No not any Tomb Raider Action/Adventure).
These are games which rarely have update patches, because many aren't played more than twice.
The game is delayed, thats a given for me. Games sites have updated and the lack of press out of the valve office means that they have bad news. I'm quite sure Gabe & the team ignore any related question before it's even asked.
However if it does come out on the 30th it'll be a nice supurise, What I really say is that its worth waiting for. The probability of a second delay is near to zero and we'll at least have the benchmarking utility to fine tune all of our pc's before the release.
Thinking back, some signs have been not really taken notice of much. Stuff like ID pushing back Doom 3, this is obviously from the forefront that the game isn't ready, just for HL2. However what if valve & ID actually do have some close ties. Both games will do well, however releasing both games at the same time would be a dissaster, each side would loose loads because of the die hard gamers for both.
In reality there may well be another route, steam is such it patches as it goes, it sounds to me like Gabe is worried hugely about things such as bugs. I see a release on steam as a very viable release for those who REALLY want the game. It'll be released like a BETA, we already know that if retail & steam are release at the same time, retail will win over steam anyday by miles. However if let's say they release mid October. The game will be more widely accepted with bugs if the offical date is still over 1 month away.
Personally I'd buy steam only if it wud like save me a month and a bit of waiting. Then I'd probably also buy the collectors edition when its released.
