i want to overclock, help

ok, i got 9800pro 2.26ghz 512mb ram pent4, and i want to overclock, and i dont know how, and my cooling system is like nothing, but the thing is, i got a fan near it, and i have my air conditioner most of the time, and i use omega driver 4.7, how do i overclock without burning my comp bad? and is the fan and ar conditioner near it enough?

bump, and i am trying to over clock the vid card, and is there a way to overclock my processor too? i think 2.26 is a bit slow

He's not being "gay". Just go to their forums and register and ask. I'm sure they will tell you what to do. Btw, if you do, also mention you dont really know alot about over clocking. It will help them better.

you cant just one day up and decide you wanna overclock. wha are you gonna do when the temps start soaring and you dont know because you arent monitoring them? then when your processor fries who you gonna blame? me for telling you how to overclock or yourself for not knowing what the hell you were doing ?

when your computer keeps crashing cuz you pushed the fsb up too far who you gonna blame when you dont know enough to stabilize it by changing your voltage?

you dont just jump into overclocking you need to know wtf youre doing first.

they're right overclocking isn't something for pc newbies, besides you probably won't be able to attain any noticeable improvement anyway

i would like to overclock but i wont do it because im much to scared i might break my pc.

i just overclocked by aboiy 20 in core, and 20 in the other thing without burning my comp, i went 5 my 5, yay

how are you OCig? What program you using? I got a 113 MHz increase on my core and a 36 MHz increase in my memory on my old 9600 SE

What program? well you can try benchmarks (free/trial versions) like Aquamark3 and 3dMarks03. Or you can simply try CS:S or Farcry, play for an hour and if you notice any artifacts then you just clock it back a bit. And check the temperature on your card as well, easiest way is to do it by hand
