As part of a school trip, I went to London. I went on the London Eye, into the London Dungeons, watched a performance of the musical 'Grease' at picadilly theatre, and eat at Planet Hollywood.

My favourite photos which I took, not many:

Since the opening of Parliament was done yesterday, most roads were closed and whatnot, so getting out of London was terrible. Took about 2 hours to actually get out of London, and a further 3 to get back to school. I was on one street and I watched it go from light, to dark because it was in the evening.

Overall, it was great fun. Really enjoyed it :)

This reads like a report you'd have to write for class.

Wicked pictures, especially the second one. Is that the millennium ring or whatever it's called?

Really nice pictures, i like the ones in the london eye over the thames. :p

It's the London eye.
Also London is shit and full of arseholes.

London makes my snot go gray :(

Let's see, I've only been to London 3 times before :)

I guarantee you'll either be mugged or not appreciated.

London is one of the most fantastic cities on this planet. There is so much to do and there are only a handful of other cities as captivating as London. There is the usual "get mugged and pollution opinion" or you can look at it as a whole and recognise how amazing it is. I love living here, I spend 5 days of my week in central London and it's still my favourite city. Someone once said "If you are bored of London, you are bored of life"

Just don't go south of the river ;)

Oh yeah it's definitely lively.

but gray snot...

I didn't know we still had chimney sweeps? I guess someone's gotta do it.

London is probably my favourite city in the world even though I visit it about 6 or 7 times a year.

I still get excited catching the train there.

This blog and it's link to this flickr as well as listening to radio rips of RinseFM dubstep have made me fall desperately in love with London.

And I'm not there, and it's sad.

How can you fall in love with a place containing cockney accents?

Damnit I've always wanted to go London, but my dad goes on work trips there every week and he is now sick of it and won't take me.

When you leave school you'll realize how little anyone honestly cares about London.

:p

Jeez. What bad experiences have you all had in London? I've never not enjoyed myself there.

London is pretty awesome.

Better than all your ****ing capitals!

Ive been to London 3 times in my life.

Once when I was about 4 to have an operation on my arm (specialist), so pretty much dont remember it.

Then twice, in a bus (I was the 2nd adult, for every 10 students you need 1 adult by law), picking up French students for their field trips a few months ago.

The place is just a rat race. People become walls; you cant move. I swear, at one red light, I saw just about the entire population of my town in Devon walk across the road. Easily a thousand people.

Wouldnt live there if you payed me.

Nice place to visit, not a particularly great place to live if you ask me. For a start the place is just too goddamn big. The distance between Exeter and Taunton in Somerset is about the same as from one corner of London to the other, it's madness. It's a very lonely city, people are always very guarded and wrapped up in their own busy lives and even if you do meet anyone the chances are they live miles away from you.

London is just hundreds of mostly delapidated towns which roll seamlessly into one another. A massive urban sprawl. And then it's implausibly expensive.

I much prefer life down here. There's still some of that big city buzz and there's plenty to do, but the people are much friendlier, it's not a nightmare to get around, Dartmoor is only a few miles away, the cost of living is much more realistic, the work culture is a lot more relaxed and there's no real crime to speak of. Plus people tend to live here because they want to, rather than because that's where the money is. People tend to be a lot happier down here - oh, and everything is just so much cleaner and more pleasant. And there are no genuinely bad parts of Exeter at all.

now let's see your face, xendance

edit:
ya sexy beast

London is full of cocks who couldn't give you the time of day, but really that's a problem with all major cities, not just London.

I don't think I could actually live in London. It's far too busy for me :) But it was a great place to visit. There are SO many advertisements on EVERYTHING. Cabs, buses, sides of buildings... everywhere. I couldn't believe it.

At night, with all its lights it looks lush :)

Nice pics, made me miss it.

Best city in the world IMO. All the negatives are true though. It is too big, crowded, lonely, expensive, hectic, and full of cocks who wouldn't give you the time of day (and has historically always been so, for the last point). Those things mean when you get tired of it, you get tired of it hard. Currently my temperament is much more suited to small-town Irish living, or suburban America. However once my stamina bar replenishes (could take a few years) and I sextuple my money in the bank (probably won't ever happen), I'm headed back to London. I can't get over the history and character of the place.
Someone said 'grime'? Mandem getdem.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PirnsWHx_Cw

I pass through London quickly only when I'm going home. I used to enjoy going there really, but there's no point anymore, since most Londoners come down to Brighton to shit it up at the weekends. Wankers.

I can spell it whichever way I want. 'Gray' looks better than 'grey'.

There are SO many advertisements on EVERYTHING. Taxi's, buses, sides of buildings... everywhere.

Fix'd. You are talking about London and use the American term, whats up with that?! :O

Pretty much everyone in England says 'cab', 'black cab', 'cabbie'....

The night before, I stayed at a friend's house which is basically a mansion. It's ****ing huge! I woke up in the morning, and looked at the view from his bedroom...

Eveyone I've ever known to refer to a cab says 'cab', regardless of whether it's a black cab or unmarked one (ie. a minicab).

I'm not saying we don't say 'taxi' too (I use both, though probably favour cab)... but do you really not say cab in Brighton??

Haha, there are definitely bad parts of Exeter, you're just not looking hard enough. Having said that my idea of 'bad parts' might be a little different to yours, heh. It's a beautiful, friendly part of the country, and when I'm done with my degree I'm going straight back there. In fact, I'm looking forward to seeing the estuary this Christmas :)

Why did you move to Devon?

London is that rare beautiful beast: something which is both manifestedly 'the shit' and, simultaneously, simply 'shit'.

I loves it, but even if I end up working there I'll probably commute from Brighton. :p

London makes my snot go gray :(
Some people have grey earwax naturally!
