I won!

I was part of an inter-school competition and I took part in a mock trial in the magistrates court in Solihul today. I was the first prosecution witness and, well, I won!

I beat the best pupils from the other three schools our team was facing, and I have a big shiny Shiled to go with it!

Basically each school made up a legal team of 13. This was split into two halves (Prosecution and defense) and our defense would go against other schools prosecution (Vice Versa) in a mock trial.

No it wasnt drama, it was literally playing the role of a Lawyer / Legal Advisor / Magistrate / Witness. Think a more interesting work experience for 14 year olds.
That make any sense?

I did that a couple of years ago. I was a dull magistrate who was drafted in a week before because the other guy was on holiday.

Heh, we did that and it was awesome. I was a witness, and the Lawyer for the Prosecution was a real competent bastard but I matched him with steely intensity improvising the role of the 'intellectual thug' ("So your account may be compromised because you were drinking?" "Hardly; I do not drink to 'get pissed' or to 'get smashed'; I find it quite vulgar!") and we won, in the end.
