There is a report here which leads me to suspect that soon id games will be featured on Steam.[br]Another source provides more credence to this current QuakeCon rumour...[br]

It's nothing more than a QuakeCon whisper at this point, but it looks likely considering long-time publishing partner Activision is already signed up, and increasingly few PC gamers can be arsed to go to the shops to buy their games.

id on steam. how interesting. anyway doom/quake engine games have been on steam before, prey is an example.. also, the quake engine and source engine are built from the same base..

Valve get half of the sales revenue for anything sold via Steam, they take slightly less if it's a source based game. That might sound like a bad deal..but compared to how much a publisher takes in terms of cut, it's pretty reasonable.

This is great news! I bought Company of Heroes as soon as it came out on Steam, I think it just makes the entire buying process a whole lot less painless. I'd buy a lot more games if they were on Steam. I'm lazy, and buying something in a store and actually having to hand over money hurts a lot more than just typing in a few numbers
