Idea for a Speedball type game, using Half Life 2 physics.

Anyone here remember Speedball - made in the early 90's for the Atari ST and Amiga?

That was a classic game.

Sadly there is no game our like this today.

I have a great idea for a game, using the Gravity Gun and those ‘metal robotic balls‘, that cling on to the 'buggy', in the buggy part of the game.

Imagine a team game. Two goals either end (like Football/Soccer). A game where everyone (11 players on each team) has a gravity gun and the aim is to fire the ball into the opponents goal.

Imagine the fun you’d have, passing the ball among team mates, and scoring classic goals - Like Speedball, but with Half Life Graphics - and the way you can fire the ball.

In Half Life 2, it was great fun, running from a distance, then firing those metal robotic balls into open doors. It was like I was playing footy, trying to get the ball "off the crossbar and in".

Wouldn’t this be so much fun for a game?

What is Valve's next project? Will it be as good as Half Life 2 I wonder?

did you just open a new thread to say the same thing again?? speedball is being done...Its called sourceball and it looks incredible

the best part of speedball (2) was managing the team changing player rotation ect. Very cool
