Takeshi's Castle is a Japanese game show which is broadcast across countries all over the world. As the program is in Japanese, the program is voiced over by Englands very own Craig Charles who presents the TV program Robot Wars and also has starred in Red Dwarf.

Takeshi's Castle is guarded by Count Takeshi and his henchman. Different henchmen appear in different games throughout the program. The toughest of these are the Elite Guard who graud the castle from General Lee (also known as General Tani) and his volunteers.

In each show, General Lee gets 100 volunteers together who have to pass all the challenges to get the chance to storm Takeshi's Castle. Each round the numbers of volunteers is dramatically cut down in size as there is loads who do not make it through to the next round.

A final few volunteers then make it to the Final Showdown to face the Emerald Guard in their "dinky daleks" or "mobile discos" as Craig Charles says.

I can say i'm a little more than interested. Heh. Especially when reading the 'injury' section.

There are some seriously hilarious moments - people must hurt themselves so very badly on some of the games. There's a game of stepping stones that you have to run across at full speed (spanning a river), and some of them aren't fixed in place - people regularly go ricocheting off into a fixed stepping stone (they're not rocks or anything, but it's still a fairly solid material) face first or torso first.

ahhh you mean Most Extreme challenge or MXC on spiketv ...it's the original Takeshi's castle dubbed in english by guys who probably make it up as they go. Funny stuff, much better than Fear Factor, which in my opion is no fun cuz there's no possiblity people will be hurt, unlike Takeshi's castle

Actually he was right MXC and Takeshi's Castle are the same show. Unless there are two different japanese gameshows with the same premise both starring Takeshi Kitano. Which I suppose is a remote possibility.

It's not dubbed by Craig Charles, he just narrates the original footage. As you say, yours has been edited and dubbed into English.

In all the episodes of Takeshi's castle i've seen there's 100 contestants trying to progress through each round without being eliminated.

Takeshi's castle is great - the stepping stone ones genius as well as the one where they have to cross the rickety bridge and get balls pelted at 'em with a cannon

Anyone ever see the bowling one? LOL that was funny, they all just stand there hopelessly in their pin costumes and some huge bowling ball (not a real one, but pretty damn solid) comes flying down and knocked 'em over the place

I dunno - a DS is pretty sturdy. Not as tough as a PSP, though.

The more I see Metal Gear Acid the more I want a PSP Unfortunately, there are loads of games and hardware higher up on the 'must buy' list, so it'll have to wait a while.

I believe that PSP was broken before they decided to demolish it. So technically it would have taken more to destroy the DS.
