Bethesda has confirmed via twitter that id Software's upcoming FPS game, Rage, will be coming to Steam with the support of Steamworks.

Steamworks gives game developers the chance to make your, and their life, easier. It's a suite of services such as cloud-based game saves, in-game economies and microtransactions, achievements, DRM, matchmaking, and more!

Rage is scheduled for release on October 4th at $59.99 / ?29.99 / $89.99 (AU) on Steam.

You want Aussie price? I EDIT AUSSIE PRICE!

Europeans do not approve of this news post. To arms!

This makes me happy, I bought Rage during the QuakeCon sale and this just means I'll have an even better time with it.

Wait a second. People give a damn what Id are doing these days?

What?! Hell yeah we do! Rage has been #1 on my wishlist for months.

Rage is pretty much going to be a better looking, more powerful, more enjoyable, and probably more entertaining version of modern Fallout games, with a lot more features, what's not to like?

Where is the implication of this? I certainly haven't seen any. The impression I got from all the gameplay videos was that Rage would be a pseudo-sandbox game featuring typical gunplay mechanics as well as some driving missions.
I could be totally wrong, but from what I have seen it looks like there will be a city hub you start out in where you get your linear missions, and after you do those missions you wind up in the hub again. Seems nothing like Fallout. Meh.

lol the game will come out in October but most smart people will:

A) wait for many reviews
B) wait for Steam holiday sales
C) wait for DLC to release
D) all of the above

C for me unless the user reviews are off the chart.

E) not buy it because there's too many other games to buy which are better

Yep, E got it for me.

An apocalyptic half-RPG, half shooter in a Sandbox environment? Sounds like newer Fallouts to me. By new features I was talking about the driving sections and other stuff similar to that. And by better looking/more powerful, I mean not walking 45 degrees to the left while moving in a straight line. Realism and all that.

Game looks cool from a technical standpoint, and I really like when games use Steamworks, but I haven't seen enough stuff that's impressed me to consider buying it now. I'll wait for reviews and MAYBE buy it in the holiday sale.

People give a **** about Rage? lol
The only reason I'm excited that Rage will be released soon is so hopefully id will finally put some people on quakelive and give it the proper attention it needs to try and fix their mistakes. Aside from that, I got no interest in it.
