IE 7 Final Released

yay.

at my job the last 3 things i had to code for the web basically looked perfect in ff and ie with no extra coding besides 1 or 2 lines to fix some barely noticable spacing things.

Thank god. A more secure IE has been released.

My god this thing is amazing. TABBED BROWSING!? Such a simple concept, yet it adds so much. And really, that little search bar in the upper-right hand corner is just a stroke of genius. You can even add your own search engines!

I'm guessing you're joking. And if not, then you deserve to be raped by a jam sandwich :sniper:

I really hate the whole Vista UI thing. Hopefully Vist will allow user themes without having to hack some .dll file, or use that styleXP program.

Microsoft said the UI engine is much more customizable than XP's. I forgot but I think I read an article that compared Vista's interface editing to WindowsBlinds.

The toolbars are placed awkwardly and you can't move them where you want which sucks ass, and to top it all off it runs slower than firefox, uses twice the memory, and is taking a lot longer to load webpages.

And although it makes all the text look nice and smooth it also causes glitches on some websites and makes some text way too big. Not to mention im now getting popups on all sorts of sites that I didn't even know had popup ads until now. Guess im sticking with firefox.

Man, your computer has some serious problems..

All benchmarks point towards IE loading faster, using less memory and a lot of people claim (And some even have technical data to back it up) that it loads websites faster.

And quite simply, IE7 doesn't have those problems or we would've seen a 100 stories on Digg, /. and elsewhere pointing it out and making it 10x worse.

If you wanted speed you'd go to Opera so IE or FF can't really brag. Even though FF may load a whole page slower it does display what it has quicker than IE which is nice for navigating from page to page.

Anyway, it's great that they are updating IE. That large user base needs an update. Is Active X by default off or is it still on?

Although I really like Firefox's real-time spell check feature (RC for version 2). So I'll probably be sticking with FF. It's good in between for features, speed and web compatibility. Opera loaded HL2.net funny for me so I didn't stick with it.

Opera loads this sight slightly funny, although you get use to it rather quick.

I prefer Opera, it's just a really great browser.
