This may seem like a bit of an odd problem, but please, bare with me.

Whenever I go to Save Picture As, it only gives me the option to save it as BMP file, and if my memory serves me correctly, there should be other options.

Anybody else ever experience this? Or is this how it's supposed to be?

I have the same problem, It went away for awhile. I believe it was after I installed Microsoft Frameworks that it worked momenteraly, but now it's back...
Are we the only ones with this problem?

go to tools>>internet options and delete the temporary internet files, then restart IE, it should be fine then - if you have a lot of offline content it might seem like your PC has frozen whilst doing it but stick with it and it should sort itself out:)

Is that the only option? I haven't cleared my Temporary files in a year, and I don't like the idea of re-entering all my passwords. :)

it sounds like the only support for images that you have on your pc is Bitmaps. What version of windows are you using, i have heard that this is a problem on Win 2000 machines.

I have this now, at work, running W2K.

I would expect it's a W2K thing.

before i used firefox, IE would do this occasionally, and erasing the temporary files solved it every time, up to you i guess:)

Temp files isn't passwords, they're just things that get loaded when you visit a site, such as images or whatever.

It's cookies that store passwords. So as long as you don't clear you cookies you'll be fine.

Just use firefox, it is much better. The downloads especially... no more crappy ie downloading.

Although I haven't used IE in a little bit over a year I think deleting your temporaty internet files might solve the problem.
