I think its better for them to keep that a secret at let loose just rumors that it has already went gold or something.That way the game may come out unexpectedly.Or they can officially say it themselve when the publishing is it at its final stages so we dont have to wait that month.

Not going to happen HL2 is far too heavily watched. We all but know for certain that HL2 is done. How do we know this? Leaked rumors from Vivendi and the missing pinata. VALVe can't keep secrets from us.
