If u could only get ONE , what would it be HALF-LIFE 2 or DOOM 3

If u could only buy one of these 2 highly anticipted games what would it be?

Half-Life 2, but only for the mods. If mods don't count in this choice, just the core single player, Doom3 without a doubt.

By the way nice job on making a Doom 3 vs. Half-Life 2 thread in a slightly new way for this forum.

Doom 3 for the sole reason that I know it will be in stores by August 5 (possibly sooner).

Half-Life 2 keeps on getting pushed back. At least they are taking their time with it.

In reality, I am getting both games.

My pick goes for HL2 simply coz if its mods mainly CS:S , also HL2 is gonna have a longer single player.

half-life2, if for some ungodly reason the single player sucks then there's cs:source, which i would pay full price for regardless, and then comes the mods.......yea and doom3 has from what i hear a great single player and deathmatch.......not as many mod communities making games for it as hl2....yea it'll be hl2 no contest

I just think HL2 will be an all arround great experience. But with DOOM3 I reckon I will love the game. But only because of the gfx and the scare factor...

Umm dood hl1 was based off the quake II engine. But yeah ill take doom III over hl2 because i can play doom on my linux system.

And that has to do with.. anything of what you quoted?

Just because it was based on the Quake 2 engine (it was actually a largely revamped Quake 2 engine), doesn't mean Q2 and HL feel the same gameplay wise
