I really don't know what is going on with Valve and VUG, but as customers I want to point out we have the final say. Right now I don't want to encourage anyone to change their buying habits. But if VUG does delay the game needlessly as leverage, I for one will buy off steam instead and send a letter to VUG to tell them what I am doing any why.

A few letters like this and I assure you VUG will fold faster than Superman on laundry day! I am sure VUG would love to hear the opinion of their customers (you know, the ones paying the bills!)

do you think that valve would release it on steam if VUG didnt release it soon?

they cant release it on steam until VU releases it retail or the six months expire. whichever happens first

No, I don't think they can legally. But I KNOW if VUG even suspects they will lose my and others sales they won't screw around. It takes a lot fewer emails than you might suspect.

yep i will buy from steam too, no CE edition for me sigh. I planned on ordering through steama nd buyign the CE edition seperate. One for each computer but alas, with the route VUg is going on this one I am definatly buying through steam if VUG doesn't open their mouthes soon, with a confirmed release date, that isn't pushed back due to tryign to use the dates for courts, or christmas release date.

To me VUg has two options, stop the bs, give a solid (non marketing directed) release date. VuG has to realize they are creating their own future irrelevence here. I don't expect them to listen though, as they never have, and thats why they are where they are right now. In the hole.

What hes saying is when it is released buy it from steam instead of retail box. That way if we send some letters now, vug won't delay nothing or else its a waisted release for them cause we all ban together to buy from steam, But on the other hand this could backfire and cause vug to hold it in court forever so valve can never release it on steam and it only goes to retail. So in closeing its the toss of a coin to insure this would work we all have to not buy games from vug at all of any kind.

I see...

Interesting theory on the letter writing campaign but isn't that what VU is worried about in the first place?

If VUG delays HL2. I'm going to finally go through with it and off myself. I've held off for a year now. But this is just too much. I don't have much to live for. VUG has my fate in their hands.

I'm getting it free from Steam (Ati Coupon) So I don't really care which way it's released..

If we got everyone to buy off steam, and no one from stores then vivendi would make just about no money.. Since they only take money from selling it at the stores, not selling it through steam.

oooo!
