That is correct. If you buy through steam you do not get anything physical like cd's. That is not to say that you can't get a copy of hl2 on dvd or cd. You have paid for it once so it is legal to obtain a copy of it from someone. And steam does allow you to dload games like hl2 and css and you can even preload them which means you dload all the locked files so that once the game is released, if you paid for it then it will be unlocked on your pc.

hl2 will be sold on steam with these prices. Retail prices have not been anounced yet.

SDK has not been released yet but those are usually free. Mods will be a small fee on steam as well depending on which package you buy. If you prebuy hl2 tomorrow on steam then you will get to play the whole version of counterstrike source and that is what most of us are waiting for tomorrow. Tomorrow will be a great day indeed meaning that hl2 is that much closer for the hl2 freaks and that cs.source is here for the css freaks. A good day indeed

Actually even if you own the game you can NOT copy somebody else's DVD or CD. You can only backup what you legally own (which is the backup files, you don't own the CDs). I mean I'm sure nobody would mind and all, just saying that technically, it's illegal, even though you own the game... you just can't copy someone else's property, only personnal property.

Nope. Mods will still be free, but have the option of charging a fee, but that's for the mod makers to decide and not VALVe (although I'm sure they will talk to them about it).

The SDK will still be free, just like the HL1 SDK. VALVe hasn't said when that will be released.

Actually mods (hlsource and dod) are an extra fee. If you get the bronze then when hlsource and dod are released, you WILL have to pay an extra fee. Usually community mods are free but these 2 are made by developers so we are both right in a way but that is what I ment by charging for mods.

actually they are totally different. Bronze comes with css and hl2 and silver comes with css , hl2, hl1source, and dod source. So basically 50 bucks for 2 games or 60 bucks for 4 games.

Yeah im not into aliens or games that support them. I am glad that my pc handles the beta fine so that I won't have to upgrade. All I want is css and I get it tomorrow. I might just sell the hl2 portion of it when It comes out. It is all about css. Tons of new maps tomorrow. I don't know what I am going to do.

Its not correct. You will get to download the games before hand (containing in the HL2 preload) then pay for the package you wish. This will unlock the games upon release.
