This game has gotta be the most best time I have ever had with any game this century! Words cannot describe how fun and crazy this game is. This game is going to last me about as long as Half-life 2 (I'm not joking.) I recommend you guys trying it or reading about it on the internet or in a magazine. If you don't like racing games....this is a game for people who HATE racing games...but for the people who like racing games this game is heaven. But if you already own it then...I guess you see my point.

Agreed. If you don't have it, you should. If you haven't seen it in action, watch the official videos. As cool as those videos are, they can't compare to actually being in control.

I might just buy this, havent bought a console game for ages, and after reading reviews it sounds like this is a sure winner. Whats so cool about it ? I wanna know... are the crashes cool or what ? btw how is it on the ps2 ? I dont own a xbox..

It looks great.

The controls are precise and responsive.

It has a better sense of speed than other racing games, especially when you use the boost.

The more dangerously you drive (driving in the wrong lane, narrowly missing other cars, sliding through turns, wrecking your opponents, etc) the more the game rewards you.

Theres also impact time (you can slow down time when you get in a wreck) and aftertouch (you have a little influence over where your car goes after the crash). If you are ahead of someone and you wreck you can go into impact time, aftertouch out in front of them, cause them to wreck... and when you recover "you'll be rewarded with a prestigious aftertouch takedown that restores the boost multiplier you might have lost and refills your boost meter for good measure."

Oh... and, yes, the crashes are cool... so cool, in fact, that they spawned their own gameplay mode (starting in Burnout 2) where you try to do as much damage as possible in predefined situations.

I saw a vid and some screens of it, thought it looked crap, went to the shops today, saw it for £32, i had a £33 credit note and there were no other games so i bought it.

Now im not a racing fan, i hate racing games but this is one F***ing amazing game. It takes me back to playing Destruction Derby and Road Rash only more intense. Jesus the cars are fast, it takes some pretty swift moves to pull stuff off, so far im enjoying Road Rage mode the best, its just too much fun taking out other drivers with a nice nudge to the back side panel and watching them fly out into a wall.

So my overall impressions from a person who hates racing games...

I rented it just yesterday. I have store credit back home (5 hours away) that I'm gonna buy it with next time I go back...the rental was just to try it to make sure I'm gonna buy it and to hold my attention until Fable comes out.

So far I've been able to get golds on everything but 1 timed lap run...it's one of the first events you get...and you use a sports car...I just can't get gold..I always get silver... :angry:

I put far cry and prince of persia to good use and got this game today...it's really awesome!

Got the game today, it's so freaking fun. I was playing on a lap-time race with a sport car, whenever I used the booster the car went up to ~300km/s in just some seconds, unfortunately I crashed right into a pillar when I was going that fast and the whole front of the car disappeared.

One tip when you are playing on a lap-time race, drive on the wrong side of the road all the time (or try to stay on the wrong side of the road), you can boost constantly without the boost gage to get depleted.

What your guy’s best record on "Crash-mode"? My best record so far is around $1.6 millions.

I took some screens, they are however from the demo but it does look exactly the same as the full version.

Total destruction.
