After seeing the article in PC Gamer (US), I can honestly say that Prey looks like a Doom 3 expansion.

I loved DOOM 3 and it looks like I'm going to eat up Prey. I wonder what the release date will be.

I read the article last night and they claim it's a "heavily modified" Doom 3 engine.. I believe in 3dr so i'm sure it is. They also claim they have added better portal technology and great outdoor enviorments. I'l believe it when I see it.

I agree, I doubt they heavily modified the engine at all, probably added a few things, and think its so different from the normal. I just want DNF ffs!

Sadness? lol, no I just mean....I dun know...it seems to look like crap in my Pc:G US. I made the shading just..it seems to point out where all the detail isn't.

I mean I look at this demon type creature. I see these flat tubes going over him, like flat everything. It just visually turns me off.
Thats all.

I really like the wall-walk pads and portals. but some of the art seemed like it needs a bit more polish. The little screen of the space battle seemed to be a pretty big environment so it seems like the outside areas have been pulled off.

the shots are awesome! the variety of enemies is really impressive. i'm with you that it reminds on doom3 level-wise and all the assets, what i didn't hope for. something more unique. it's supposed to have outdoor levels, too and varied levels. here's hoping it will not be the same likle d3, at all. i have faith in human head, since 3drealms is involved.

it's also good to know they added the portal technology, what was prey's strong atrribut back in the day. hh have re-written the AI completely which should make for some more challenging fights.

Hmm... Looks a LOT like Doom 3. I'm not sure if that should be a good or bad thing. It looks like its taken a very huge departure from its previous aesthetic style, so I fear this may just be trying to capitalize off of the whole "metallic shit 'n mud" look of Doom 3.

Also, the whole Native American vibe strikes me as pretty damn hokey. Maybe it's just because I'm not used to that kind of thing in my games, but come on. The spirits of hawks? Ancient Native American anecdotes? In a gritty and dark sci-fi setting with bigass weapons of death and monstrous aliens? It sounds like this kind of idea should have been left back in '96 when developers still weren't giving a shit about narration and plot.

Personally, I think they should have stuck with their original experimental alien suit idea.
