Answer thy question. If you spotted a penny on the ground while walking down the sidewalk, would you pick it up? Being the kind of person I am, I would grab it. Any money is good money. :P

You're looking at the guy who swims around in wishing wells...

Yes I pick up pennies. Look at this way...if you pick it up fast enough, its probably more than your hourly wage when you scale it up.

owned

yeah, anything more than 2p i do... what can i say? im a lowley student. Anyway, 2p is like... 0.0001% of a pint

Nah not worth the effort when I've got a few paychecks floating around in my wallet.

Haha, I saw that misspelling ;)

There are about a million factors that could affect this decision...

But 90% of the time, no.

Thats what everyone thinks, until those pay checks dry up unexpectadly...
Then the penny doesn't seem so low.

Having said that, who wants a money cigar?! :D

You saw nothing vegeta :borg:

No I dont, I keep them outside, under the doormat so no one will steal them.

No, got enough small change already, hate the stuff. Weighs tonnes in your wallet.

I'm more likely to be the guy who puts it there. My minimal pick-up value is 50 eurocents.

I use small change in the vending machines at college and automated tills at the supermarket.

I like to throw my small change at childen and the elderly.

Speaking of higher value coins...

The lowest I would pick up is a quarter. Those you can actually use on vending machines and stuff.

Ritz- If by "throw" you mean "donate", well gosh, how nice of you!

Can't be bothered to have it in my wallet, stupid metal thingies. :x

Besides, most vending machines I use only accept electronic money.

SO glad we've pretty much banned 1 and 2 cents!

No, throw as in "if you throw it hard enough you will make them cry". You know Ritz, always mean.

* No Ritz, not the belt!! *

But Pvt...If you've got a wallet full of small coinage, you can use it to beat people with.

Completly offtopic. My typing/spelling is really really bad tonight for some reason, please dont mind the errors.

No way; I have some dignity, you know. That's why I only pick up 50p and above.

Yeah didn't you hear? The israelis came out with a new car, stops on the dime, literally.

I don't see how dignity comes into it...you're not exactly going to lose face. Personal preferance/philospohy I suppose.

Penny pinching/collecting all the way :D

Remembering the old adage, "You look after the pennies and the pennies will look after the pounds"

People like Bill Gates (not sure if it's him or another rich person) are notorious for picking up any coins on the ground.

Although I keep a very large "Carlsberg Beer Can" in my room to store loose change, I don't actively seek more to add to my collection. I don't like carrying change about and I'm well off enough to not need to pick up a penny from the floor :)

shuupppp marco! you suck

I wouldn't pick a penny up or 2p or 5p. In fact change is heavy = me lazy. Unless you were superstitious and thought it brought good luck, then picking it up aint gonna convience you much. If i get a copper i'm the one that throws it away so you can pick it up! (or in charity box thingy)

No its just a jewish car. Not onl does it stop on a dime it turns around and picks it up ROFL anyways on the subject of quaters. If you are a starving college student or just frugle sit in the quad and ask if u can have a quater to make a phone call u should eventually get enough money to buy some food :D

Leave the penny for the goddamn homeless people. They need it more than we do.

No, I don't hjave pennies in Australia.

Usually when I bend down I moon everyone :o

You shouldn't do that its not polite besides if you are going to moon someone you should do it out of a car not when u bend over!

I do, because I make an average of about 5$ a month (which really isn't that bad) just from picking change off the ground.

I pick 'em up and put it in my pocket, but I always forget about it and it gets lost in the washing machine.

Of course I pick up pennies! What else would I through at ugly people that pass me by in the street?

I'd be too lazy to get a mere penny,

dime or quarter?, now you're talking

The ammount of food required to produce the ammount of energy needed to bend over and grab the penny costs more than the penny....so no..I wouldn't pick it up.
