I would pick Blu-ray.....some of you are like YOUR CRAZY!!!! BLU-RAY IS THE SUCKS!!!!!

Well according to Cnet...Blu-ray is winning at least according to sales.

Most HD-DVD and Blu-ray players are not bought as just players. Most are bought as game consoles (XBOX 360, PS3). Here is an excerpt of the article from Cnet.

HD DVD surrenders by September

OK, this probably won't happen, but it should. With sales for both HD DVD and Blu-ray stand-alone players remaining tepid throughout the year, the biggest number of players will actually come in the form of game consoles--or in the case of the Xbox 360 and its HD DVD external drive, game console accessories. According to the numbers we're seeing, there are 175,000 HD DVD players out there (with 92,000 of those being Xbox 360 HD DVD players) and around a million Blu-ray players in homes, most of them PS3s. As Sony ramps up PS3 production, we expect that 5:1 ratio to hold, and perhaps even increase. Add to that the fact that sometime very soon the number of available Blu-ray titles will top the number of HD DVD titles, with the gap continuing to widen as the year progresses, and things don't look all that good for Camp HD DVD. Personally, I don't care who wins or loses, and I'm not rooting for either format. But unfortunately, if someone doesn't bow out gracefully, both formats risk going nowhere, especially with various forms of downloadable HD content in the works.

Just would like to hear your thoughts on this subject.

If I had to buy one, I'd buy the HD-DVD. If they cost the same (as well as the discs), I'd buy the Blu-Ray.

With the current number of titles, inclusion of the Adult Film Undistry, Universal Studios backing(this is huge), and the current price point I'll have to side with HD-DVD on this one. Sony can push and push all they want, but when it comes down to it the max limit for storage comparing the two formats doesn't really make much difference.

A) "I'll bring 'round some Blue Ray Discs over tonight, k?"
or
B) "I'll bring 'round some (HD)DVDs over tonight, k?"

Final Verdict: B) HD-DVD!

HD-DVD is better. You see is Sony wins porn will take a hit. Although it's less about porn(I just download it) and more about Sony controlling content.

meh, they are expensive.... my dad's lcd tv has 1080i and we are fine with the dvd, even though the quality is abit bad. i think in 3 years time i will get a PS3 because i can watch and play at the same time, plus its cheaper.

If the Blu-ray was considerably lower in price than it is now, by all means. Until then, I will stick with my DVD

hd-dvd is better for price. also they both play in 1080p.

If I didn't have to think of what was going to be the format of the future and you gave me tons of cash I would buy Blu-ray. But HD-DVD is naturally backward compatible with DVD and costs less to buy the Movies, the players and for the studios to make the master discs. It costs the studios less to make a double layered HD-DVD Master disc than a single layered blu-ray and the cost difference goes up as you add more layers.

ATM nether is going to 'win'. I don't think they are getting very many sales because most people are still content with DVD and others don't wan't to pick because whatever they choose might be the 'loosing' format. And I bet Blu-ray titles got a boost in sales because of the PS3 launch (even though there are some big flaws how the PS3 plays Blu-ray movies).

DVDEmpire is saying they are basicly a tie atm. Blu-ray higher sales this year and HD-DVD had higher sales all of last year (2006).

I would go for HD-DVD because it has HD-DVD on one side and normal DVD on the other so if you're going on a trip you can still bring that one disc and play the DVD side.

I would pick neither, because I really couldn't care less. I don't even have, or plan on buying, a TV that supports HDTV, and I don't watch movies on my computer.

I have both and have conpared them on a 1080p 60''

I have to say HD DVD looks better. So far at least. I am also using a Mseries hdmi cable which is the best cable to use for blu-ray.

None the less the picture is insane. Once you see what HD is you really have a hard time going back. I was also the person that didnt see or care about HD till i got this setup. After that it was over and now anything in SD is just unbearable and i wont watch.

I definately want HDTV, don't get me wrong... but I won't be able to afford it until... well, probably at least until this format war is over :D

i dont see how non-HD is bad it looks good to me but i do mainly watch antenna television so its all fuzzy so anything better than that and im happy
