IGN sat with Valve's Chet Faliszek to talk about Left 4 Dead, Chet describes it as "The Zombie Apocalypse You Can Play With Your Friends". Here's some highlights from the podcast:

• Each movie takes an hour to two and a half hour to play.
• Versus mode shipping with 10 maps to play at release.
• The demo version is a couple of maps in the beginning of "No Mercy" movie.
• The 360 version of the demo has already been shipped to Microsoft for certification.
• There are stats between each map, and at the end of the game it rolls stats for the whole game instead of credits.
• There are achievements (like the number of zombies you have to kill).
• Valve will release videos for the backstory of Left 4 Dead.
• SDK will be out really soon after (if not with) launch.
• November 18, be there.

He means movie as in 5 map campaign, the "meet the..." style movies he mentioned in the cast would be promotional material, that might flesh out the characters backgrounds, nothing specific was said though.

That makes me lol. A year later and we are still waiting for 3 more 'Meet the ...' for TF2. We got to meet a Sandvich before we could meet the rest of the team.
