To work in the gaming industry you need to be reasonably intelligent and mature, your brother sounds like he has neither of these qualities judging from his spelling and immature opinions. If he hasn’t even got the balls to sign up and post his own opinion I would suggest everyone totally ignore this thread.
I think your brother is in denile, i think he tried making his own game and failed severely, then he blames it on everyone else, and goes home and cries about his failure life, and then blames the Russian because they can make games abd spell, poor child.

I agree his brother seems a little but nut and angray( is he maybe still a virgin), but he also may have a point, companys have done far worse thing to get attention, now I don't know if valve would go so far, but its an interesting point of view.

He made one (accurate) refrence to Linux. Not sure how that makes him a "Linux fanboy". I, too, think it's a shame that Valve won't support Linux gamers the way Epic and id have.Danimal said:

Uurgh, not another misinformed idiot who is convinced that Valve used the leaking as an excuse to delay the game and/or a covert media release; Gabe has repeatedly stated that the game would not have made the September 30th deadline regardless of the leak. The quality of the leaked version(s) would have done nothing for the community's opinions either.
Your brother sounds suspiciously similar to my sister, who also tries to cover up bloody stupid theories with plenty of amateurish vocabulary use and aggressive patronisation (yes, she and I have some things in common). 1. The leak had little to no effect on the release date.
2. People were ARRESTED for it, so I doubt Valve set it up.
3. I played the leak once, it wasn't that good. Didn't really make the game seem any cooler to me... It also had a few spoilers in it that kinda ruined parts of the game for me...
Now, as for delaying the game with legal problems:
1. This has been going on for a while, and I doubt Valve had the foresight to set this all up just for a clever marketing ploy. Too much work for something they could have just done by openly delaying the game (6 month release window, anyone?).
2. This guy is an idiot (Look at his spelling/grammer and his job).
3. See number 2.
Do you really think Valve and VU wouldn't have jumped at the chance to release this game LAST YEAR around christmas? They would have beaten out Doom 3, and would have been near the top of the stack as far as graphics go. If the game had been ready then, we'd have it now.
I'm gonna stop ranting before I start sounding like Danimal's brother.

EDIT: Wasn't it said VALVe would hold developement on purpose to put pressure on serria/vug? (saw in interview somewhere, cant reember where / who).
HL2 hasnt been much over 1 yr delay, about the same as Doom3.

who is talking like the game has been delayed more than once? besides, it's not how many times it's delayed that matters, it's how long it is delayed. would you be more pissed at a game company for delaying a game twenty times and having the release date only a month away from the original release date or would you be more pissed if a company delays a game once for 3 years?Varsity said:

The original idea of this was to make you all get over HL2. I honestly have no idea what your situations are with the game, but you've heard mine. It just pissed me off because they are actually making my brother convince my mother to actually purchase the game over the internet, with her credit card. I think when it gets to that point, it's disturbing.
As for my spelling, I'm on a different keyboard. =)
