It's just been released today in its beta stage and the functionality is amazing.
As far as I can tell, everything works apart from dropdown boxes. It even has bookmarks and a decidedly accurate predictive text. Annoyingly, it always thinks you are trying to do a web address when typing a full stop if you don't end the word before typing it.
Otherwise, for a beta everything seems to work really well.

Edit: Load times are pretty astonishing too, even for pictures, I was expecting to be staring at Wii logos for at least a minute between pages. Anywho, I'm gonna go check out Wiicade.com

So that's why there is a page full of posts on GameFAQs saying, "I'm posting from my Wii!!!!".

What data input device is used to type text on that browser? An uSB/PS2 keyboard by any chance or do you press on screen buttons using the Wii-mote?

It sounds pretty good - using the Wiimote is suprisingly good for typing. Not a patch on a keyboard, but shits all over using a pad.

Does it look the the normal Opera browser for windows?

I'm glad they chose Opera, since it's easily the best browser looks-wise and web standards-wise.

Nope, the screen filled with the web page. A small tool bar at the bottom for back/forward refresh and favourites.

I hope they add tabbing, a better way to go to new websites, the text is way too small so you have to zoom right in. Also to scroll you have to hold B and move the pointer. Its not bad for a trial version though.

I couldn't get YouTube to work at one point. I hope Nintendo don't block things. That would suck majorly.

Welcome to Opera

Opera is my favorite browser.
Great functionality, great speed, easy to use, and overall the best browser.

I'm no suprised Nintendo picked up Opera. Opera is on the DS, many cell phones, and such. The people at Opera definently know how to create a great interface.

OMG I'M POSTING FROM THIS THING CALLED A PERSONAL COMPUTER USING A WEB BROWSER CALLED "FIREFOX"

PICTURES AND VIDEO WORKS!

Wiimote + flash = instabuy for me.

omg, I am using firefox too! small world.

I am posting from my Wii as well. It took me 5 minutes to do this when it would take only 15 seconds on a computer. Still, there is a novelty in doing this.

There are thingers out that let you use tabs etc in the browser.

I've forgot the link.
