Here is a mock up/first attempt at drawing a hot air balloon floating away in the wind at night. I just started it as you can tell, but I hope to actually make this look decent. I never draw, and when I do, I usually **** EVERYTHING up and get pissed and scrap it.

Someone give me pointers please. The tree isn't going to stay, but I'm planning on drawing leaves at the bottom as well having them blow in the wind, too.

Anyway, post some comments about it thus far if you would like, please! Thanks HL2.net.

It's also fsking huge. Got a smaller image? :3

Your balloon connector thingies are bending the wrong way btw.

There.

Also, if the wind is blowing the balloon top which is what I'm making it do, wouldn't the connectors stay that way?

I'm not very much worried about that though.

I'm not very good with technical terms, but I can tell you right now that those strings would not bend that way.

A thing that personally I think people should use a lot more is differences in Line thickness.

Also consider making the image more dynamic by changing the angle sorta. At the moment it's a very typical kind of side-on angle, which also clashes with the 3-d box basket.

Me either. D:

Reupload it again.

Are you using any sort of reference photo? It's important when you're first starting out to use a reference as much as possible rather than drawing from your ~*imagination*~. For example, here's something that looks similar to the kind of angle you want.

Hmm.. I actually just went straight from imagination. I'll be sure to chalk up another drawing tonight using said angle. The problem is when I try angles, they never come out the way I want them to. I try variations of shading methods and they seem to never work coherently. I'll definitely give this a shot however.

Thanks... toaster..man? I don't like where this is going.

Hey Shamrock. I can see it now, as I check before I go to bed.

I think it's way better than anything I could ever do!

Here is an update thus far. I'm going to basically redraw the whole picture, but it's coming along.
