I'm incredibly nervous. I have everything written down perfectly, but as everyone knows your speech never comes out quite like it did in your head. Any suggestions for taming this nervousness?

Listen to aggressive music. Look into the mirror and tell yourself what an amazing, good looking and powerful man you are. Scream and roar.

You need to stop thinking about fear. Fear is irrelevant. You have something to do, just go out there and do it. **** the people in the crowd, they should be lucky to listen to what you have to say.

I live in the states. I'm 18 and cannot purchase alcohol legally, nor can I obtain it anywhere near me because I'm on the campus now. I hate the jitters, if I didn't have them this speech would be a breeze.

I like to think about the universe and how insignificant a speech is.

Yes, drink lots and lots of alcohol. It works.
Well, I wasn't suggesting to go and get absolutely maracoed, just a few pints to sooth the mind and chill out.

Meh, you'll find that once your up there it'll all fall into place.

Get with the freestyling, freewheeling so beguiling and appealing you'll never ever stop, or drop or give up.

Oh FFS, Stop Quoting that massive ****ing image.

but it's so pretty :(

*resists urge to post it again with the caption "this one?"*

to be fair, any 56kers only have to download it once, then it's cached...

Play some games like a first person shooter game to get your mind off the speech. Just keep it off your mind don't worry so much about screwing up, that tends to make it worse. Just chill play some games and relax until its time

I dig your rhymes.

you know what you do for a speech, you go out there and think your teaching what you are talking about. make sure to look around while talking and use a strong voice. Once you start talking, you'll like it. And for the love of god, don't use a one tone voice. Be passionate about your topic.

Just breathe deeply, and rationalize it. Understand that there's no reason to be afraid. If you're still scared, just ignore it and keep going.

The one important thing, though, is that you don't talk too fast. Nerves will do that to you, and it sucks. Pace yourself.

Heh, you think you're nervous. I've had to give speeches I written only half an hour before. Me and my damn lazyness.

But anyway, good luck with your speech.

Then, panic.

I had a speech class last semester and it was quite a learning experience. Nearly all the speeches I did had to be filmed and reviewed at a later time to critique yourself. Take a few deep breaths and just keep thinking positive thoughts.

At the end of the semester, I had to do an improptu speech with only 2 minutes to prepare. Talk about pressure.

I know how you feel so just suck it up and do it!

Just remember that whether or not you mess up your still a tard.

zOMG he killed himself out of fear for the speech D:
