Do I have to delete/format my Harddisc and/or reinstall all my games etc. to make it work?

umm... yes actually.... delete everything. then format your harddrive... heheh.... then take your hardrive out and stick it near a subwoofer (while playing music)... heehee.... then- smash it with a hammer! then reinstall windows :upstare:

Not at all. Just make sure you remove all of your drivers from your previous card. Especially if its a Nvidia. There are some freeware programs out there that clean out all your old video drivers, I suggest using one. Then make sure you install the latest drivers from ATI's website. I wouldn't suggest using the manufacturer's drivers that come on a cd with the card itself.

After that you should be good to go. Enjoy the new graphical power.

You don't have to take out the old drivers. I did I science project on video cards and I used an ATI RADEON 9700 Pro, GeForce 4 Ti 4200, and Geforce 2 MX200, and I didn't have to uninstall my old drivers.

i have a radeon 9800 pro 128mb version and it kicks ass. it is the 3rd best in the radeon series (the XT version the best, 256mb memory version second). but i got it for £80 when i upgraded the shite 1 they give u from dell. dell gives u a really crap pc, then allows u funky upgrades (like my card) for very low prices. so the more u spend, the bettr the pc

nope, dont need to uninstall a thing...

well...almost nothing. if you have GTA3/VC you need to delete a cfg file for it. also, GTA3 runs SLOW with the frame limiter OFF. NVidia cards run GTA3 slow with it ON.

Hey! Geforce ti4200 are not bad! (according to me) So far I have not had slowdown on any games I have tried (inc. HL2 alpha) and it overclocks great! The only probs are about the non-dx9 effects.

Do you REALLY need 256MB ram on a vid card? How many games will actually use that extra memory? In my opinion, is just a waste of money... spend it on system ram, or a processor upgrade instead.

As for vid cards.... I need to trash my mx440, its such a piece of crap... I'm not completely positive, but I'm fairly sure that it is the reason that anything requiring any type of real work for the card (games, dvds, etc) randomly crashes the entire computer. I got a BSOD in windows 2000 (!!!!) when I added a RAM upgrade. I originally thought that all this was because I switched from a p4 setup to an athlon setup without reinstalling windows and such, but after a reformat and reinstallation, I'm still getting crashes, and an occasional BSOD. anyways... this is all extremely off topic... sorry... yeah...

We had PE (Gym) at school today and we went swimming. So I jumped into the pool and wanted to see how far I could go under water. But as I started I kicked my foot directly into the side of the pool and obviously some of the mosiac was pointing out from the wall because I sliced my foot right open. It looked cool because I was bleeding everywhere and the lifeguards came up to me and everything! Yeeeehaaa!
