im getting doom, plz help

i am 13, and i an getting doom3, but i am afraid i wont be able to sleep after playing it, give me hints to make the horrror as least as possible! like play at day, watch something funny, or something like that

Hmmm I swear 2 god I saw a thread just like this as u the poster......maybe im seeing things.

Anyways doom 3 is not scary and I really dont care what anyone says. You dont need to worry at all. Honestly wherever u go theres a monster so if your scared over a repetetive game then thats sad. Im not saying you wont jump at times but you definitly wont have 2 worry about not sleeping. Whether you play in the dark or in the day im guessing you will jump cuz u seemed 2 be a scaredy cat If you dont want 2 be scared just always expect. Maybe that will help....

Doom 3 isn't nearly as scary as I hoped it would be. Some parts were pretty creepy but most of it was just cheap scares.

It's not as scary as it is startling. But after awhile of the same thing you'd be able to shoot an imp behind you with the gun between your legs.

Also, AVP 1 & 2 is far scarier than DooM 3 (as the marine) because you actually feel like the Alien's can kill you, you can only take a couple of hits from the Alien's before you're dead. In DooM 3 you have enough firepower, health and armour to never worry about getting wasted. This might be different on Nightmare level but I think "Nightmare" in DooM 3 tip's to scale into tedium instead of fear, because it's just too hard!!

Hell was boring. Pretty, but boring. So boring infact, I turned god mode on just to get through it. Later bits were great though.

I think it is better to complete the game, then use cheats afterwards.
Usually doing loadsa fun stuff like on HL killing scientists, what fun you can have with a little imagination.

I never really thought doom3 was scary like "omg i'm terrorfyed i can't look"... but more just "tension" like a constant feeling of anxiety that made it sometimes really unpleasant to play. I was startled a few times by a couple of cheap scares though in the game. But nothing i wet my pants over...

Also i agree that AvP 1 on the marines was a lot scarier, for a lot longer than doom3 is. Something about it made it much worse but even with that after a while you get used to seeing aliens everywhere.
