I'm getting MASSIVE slowdown

Okay, when I start the game, it works fine for about 3 minutes. Then, I'll get a little hang up, nothing big at all. It'll hang up for about 4 seconds pretty quick after that, and soon after that I get a huge slowdown that lasts at least 20 seconds, and that just keeps happening and happening. My system meets the recomended requirements, so I don't know what's up.

I'd also like to note that when I downloaded the demo, it didn't have this problem.

wouldnt that be page file. OP do you at all have a integrated card along with your 6200?

I do have an integrated card, but it's disabled so I can use the 6200.

And I have no idea why my RAM is 992. It was 480 before I upgraded with a 512 mb one. I just say a gig cause it's so close.

It would most likely be your 6200 as it doesn't have that much horsepower

I once had a GeForce 7300, but the framerate was a lot worse than the 9800 Radeon I had previously, so I upgraded to a Geforce 7600, and runs quite fast.

The general rule of thumb is never go for Nvidia Product that is below x600 (x being the version number, example 6600, 7600, 8600, etc)

I don't see how it could be the video card since I ran the demo with no problem, and on higher settings as well.

I have a crappier card than him and experience no slowdown on HL2.

(I think mine is a 5 series GForce. -__-

Are you running it on a laptop? If so, the fans could not be getting enough air, and it may be overheating. This happens a lot on my friend's laptop.
