Ok, so I'm planning to get the game in the coming days (tomorrow even, maybe). I have some questions, If I could play the demo comfortably, will I be able to do so with the full version? Have you experienced worse performance, more lag etc.?

Second question: Are you still playing together like we used to when the demo came out and in the first weeks of the full version? Cause I don't see these "great game tonight" threads anymore.

The full game seems to run a little better, but don't expect a 20 FPS jump. And no, no one really plays together anymore.

The full game runs better lolol. If anything the retail product seems slower than the demo version. After this whole memory leak facade it's hard to tell anymore.

Otherwise I'm playing on 1024x768 all on high with 50+ fps.

They fixed the memory leak, also remember, some maps run slower than others.

For me, the full game runs a lot worse. I get a lot of slowdowns, and my graphics are uncomfortably low. Nevertheless, I love this game. :P

Eveything is 100% excellent about this game. 1 thing I hate is the time you have to wait verifying your data --> 2mins to verify foooking wankers

10 seconds to load the map, 20-30 to verify. Someone in my clan measures how long it takes him to load by how many times the song repeats.

I wish they went back to the classic BF song rather than this psuedo shit.

No matter, I just downloaded the BF song.
I never heard DC music. :P

Wow, thats a long verify, from joining a server to spawning for the first time in it only takes me about 1 minute and 10 seconds.

well duh!! look at your specs ....oh I get it ..you want us to look at your rig ...ok: "ooooohhh" "ahhhhhh"

I dunno whether it is the rig that determines verifying time- does anyone know for sure? Could it be connection speed or ping? Ive found my verifying times are shorter on servers i get less lag with once im onto the game- to do with my connection i think.
Having said that tho- the processing light on the front of my case is flashing wildly while it is 'verifying.' So im not 100% sure.

Weeee! I got the game . I already played for a few minutes, I haven't noticed the game downloading any patches however. Are the patches not necessary? Are they only for client-side problems? Or are they just downloading fast?

There is a patch out, 1.02, you should probably get it.

What he means is it doesn't patch itself like a game SHOULD. You gotta go get it..totalbf2.com or such should have em up. 1.0.2 is what you need

off topic: why did you bail on me cyber? left me all alone with those crazy people

on topic: i got nothin' (exept what i said earlier)

I got it fixed. My new time is 56 seconds on 64/maps....

My firewall was the problem, disable the firewall, :rolling:

its to do with low pings, map size and firewall/anti-virus programs

As long as you have proof that you own it. I suggest keeping the receipt for the worst case scenario.

Why do you need to know?

I wouldn't like to have my account banned or something if EA had any objections. I'd rather not have my DVD in the drive as it can get scratched while taking it out, putting it in etc.

I just mount a mini-cd image in daemon tools, keeps me set

@Kami Because power went out, and I was tired, so I just went to bed..if I remember correctly D:

DICE and/or EA should release in patch 1.03, no-cd. Its great not having to put in cd's into my drives, especially since, D3,FC,UT2k4 keep me busy. :(

That will encourage what happened with Quake 2! When they released the patch that had an nocd in there, people would just copy the quake2 directory, and copy it to mulitple computers. Granted, different times, different standards, but I'm sure they are too paranoid about piracy for that.
